What?? Where?!!
It has been reported that the Metropolitan Police in Hackney have “further traumatised an already vulnerable" child who its armed officers mistakenly held at gunpoint in July 2023, and that the resulting "rapid safeguarding review” by the City and Hackney Child Safeguarding Partnership announced in October 2023 never actually began:
Police accused of ‘re-traumatising’ Black child after he was seized by armed police for having a water pistol
We do go there , mostly on a Saturday when unusually for a supermarket, it is well quiet.Sainsburys Stamford Hill is closing 1st of Feb.
This is so they can demolish and then rebuild it with flats on top apparently.
I heard that recently from a neighbour, wasn't quite sure how true it was that's a pain for me as I live in Stamford Hill and it's my nearest supermarket.Sainsburys Stamford Hill is closing 1st of Feb.

This was for one of the HS train lines but I am not sure that is going ahead now.FTFY.
I heard a rumour Morrisons was closing but not sure if that was being confused with Sainsburys. Anyone know?

I haven't been inside but all the shops are for the Jewish community.Re Stamford hill - what's going on in that recently re opened indoor market thing, the one where Asda (?) used to be? Anyone been in?
Haven't been in, tbf, I only went there a couple of times when ASDA was there . I have been past on the bus a few times but keep forgetting to lookRe Stamford hill - what's going on in that recently re opened indoor market thing, the one where Asda (?) used to be? Anyone been in?

I may be wrong about this but I believe the building (an old bowling alley) is owned by the community so when Asda's lease was up they had to move out.
I used to get a new watch battery put in at a place there, they also had to move out but they found him a new space in a shop by Stokey Station.
Will take one for the team, investigate, and report back in due course.Haven't been in, tbf, I only went there a couple of times when ASDA was there . I have been past on the bus a few times but keep forgetting to look
I've not been in since the lockdown, but it was always more chaotic than Sainsburys and had more nutters in my experience.I've only been in it about twice -- what've I been missing..?
Park Avenue? It's a hotel too?I've always been fascinated with a Jewish Restaurant near that old ASDA place - between it and the common, it's called 5th Avenue or something , never seems to be busy when I walk past it, but it has been there for years.
Yes! I didn't realise it was a hotel. It has very 70s vibes.Park Avenue? It's a hotel too?
Always been intrigued too.I've always been fascinated with a Jewish Restaurant near that old ASDA place - between it and the common, it's called 5th Avenue or something , never seems to be busy when I walk past it, but it has been there for years.
