Gordon Brown savaged in a speech in the European parliament by Daniel Hannah MEP

I don't think the media did bring down the last government, voters just got tired of them - the Tories are now in the same position as Brown was in 2009.
you'll recall the election fever of the autumn of 2007 where the talk was of gordon brown holding an early election. if he had done then, the last 16 years might have been very different.

the problems labour had in 2019 were essentially not that people weren't sick of the tories but centred on corbyn not having the support of his dressing room, of the parliamentary labour party, the never-ending accusations of anti-semitism, and the pisspoor campaign they ran where a new policy was put out every day, rather than setting their brexit policy - shammer's brexit policy - centre stage against johnson's 'get brexit done'. it really was an appallingly badly run campaign whereas for all its shortcomings the tory campaign was quite clear on the central plank of their manifesto.

Like yep Gordon Brown was shit, the likes of John Major, Tony Blair, David Cameron, Theresa May, Boris Johnson, Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak have arguably been worse though.
I do have more respect for him than that list of the manner he has conducted himself since loosing office UN role and OU tutor might have the seat on Boards the others haver but Im not aware of them

Daniel Hannan writing as 'Christopher North' on how he flew 13,000 miles to Lima for two days, to watch a matador who had 'starred' in 'the corrida of 2022'. Screenshot_20230216_081224_Chrome.jpg
