GB News: a thread so you never have to watch it

I suspect that GBN's audience is still amongst the cohort that think telly is only on the actual telly tho. They dont seem very aimed at da yoof
Even my 79 year old mum uses netflix these days though (she wouldn't watch gb news) and plenty of right wingers on social media.

No ofcom to worry about online either.

Do the owners see the losses as losses? Maybe they are happy with it as the cost of getting their beliefs out to as wide an audience as possible.

Well who knows. For now, they obviously have deep enough pockets to be hiring the likes of Farage, and Rees Mogg etc.

If, as Neil suggests, they had a plan to turn a profit by year 3 and that doesn't happen, maybe they'll re-evaluate. But Neil talks a lot of bollocks as we know so it's anybody's guess.

There's also the hope that OFCOM puts a serious dent in this with the numerous complaints pending and upheld. I shan't hold my breath though.

Possibly. But that may be how they spin it, when they start having to account for their losses.

Yes, it'll be just spin.

I've not checked the viewing figures for ages, but they do seem to have peaked last year, and have started to drop, I guess because some of their big names are gone.

At Talk 'TV' is basically a radio station, with a reasonable amount of advertising, as News Int' sells their own radio airtime, GB News is more of a TV station, that happens to be on the radio, where they have little advertising, as they don't sell it themselves, so a much more expensive operation, with a lot less revenue coming in.

GBN is not growing as planned, in both audience and revenue terms, so the loons funding it are likely to get bored with their toy at some point, and just put a much scaled down version online, reducing losses.

They have Darren Grimes sitting in that box in the corner of the room wanking perpetually.

Exactly this.

I’m assuming once Labour is in power the libertarian billionaire types will start throwing big money at far right issues here, as they have been doing in Europe for the last decade or so. I think they’ve let off doing this while the Tories were in power as they were at least partially playing along with their agenda. The big win for them will come in getting stuff like ‘flat tax’ enacted, and pushing grasping hands away from their tax havens. The cash they get to hang on to by eroding tax justice will make 75 million feel like small change.

The whole intention of GBN was to build a big audience, to suck more people into their way of thinking, they made big claims that they would over take Sky News within about 3 years, they are totally failing in that mission, they are just preaching to the already converted, which is a massive waste of their money.

Decor picked up at auction following bankruptcy of once-lauded microbrewery/boutique pub chain..?

I have stolen that and posted it on his twitter feed.

Thank you.
I look forward to hitherto unknown-to-me bright young things sliding into my DMs with ego-boosting comments and persuasive entreaties to exchange candid snaps of a somewhat fruity nature in the near future

Oh I just stole the gif not the whole post. You are safely anonymised.

I've had to take a couple of breaks from that and even then couldn't finish it. What a slimy twat breathlessly suggesting that utter meaningless crap is somehow important.

I accidentally flicked onto GBN about 12.15 am - and got the repeat of Lee Anderon - I think it's the Friday show which enables Farage to "work" a 4 day week.
Seems this is not important enough for GBN to have on Youtube, but at the point I started watching it was Anderson chatting to an unnamed white couple who threw out occasional references to woke etc which Anderson ignored.
He then had Christopher Biggins talking about damehood in the theatre in the North, and his early career from the age of 16 in Salisbury. CB threw out camp references at a rate of knots, but again Mr Anderson was a dazed looking acquiescent listener.
When he took a trip in a cab talking to yer standard cabbie who was railing against London gone to the dogs I came to my senses and went back to Sky News Papers (on repeat).
I found the 2 interview pieces before the cabbie remarkably relaxed - actually good interviews compared to Farage's ME ME ME.
So has Anderson changed - or is he still a neurodivergant knee-jerk bigot gone quiescent?
Having lost his Tory jobs by losing it why didn't he retract or apologise. A bit odd being Mr Meek and Mild on GB News after all that - but perhaps they pay well?

I bet a good chunk of their viewing figures are left-leaning or centrist types tuning in to find something offensive to get wound up about and wave around on Twitter to a chorus of tutting. Shouldn’t give them the oxygen of publicity and all that.

A sizeable chunk of their audience are likely to be white working class people, going by the comments I hear.
