GB News: a thread so you never have to watch it

GB news is no more of a 'threat' to the establishment as I am. It's ratings are still way behind Sky or BBC News despite the hiring of Farage, Rees-Mogg, Eammon Holmes etc.

They may only have 3.44m viewers, but the scary part is the fact that's up by just over a million since June 2022, and the GB News Radio is also growing its listenership too.

Whilst I've been on an urban break, I have followed the Wootton story to much amusement, and it's been entertaining catching up on posts about it over the last few weeks.

Anyway. latest news...

Now a new witness has come forward to claim “Martin Branning” and Dan Wootton were one and the same man.

Andy Lee, a performer on the subscriber website OnlyFans, told the Guardian he met “Branning” in person back in 2013 – and later realised he had actually met Wootton.
Oh dear. :D

And, the lawyers. bit...

Wootton has neither confirmed nor denied that he used the Martin Branning pseudonym and an associated email address, but he has claimed he is being smeared by a malicious former partner and “dark forces” intent on ending his career.

And, back to the fun...

Lee now alleges Wootton used the pseudonym Martin Branning to arrange a sexual encounter with him 10 years ago. The encounter, Lee claimed, came after he had responded to a Craigslist advert seeking male models.

In emails that have been seen by the Guardian, Branning describes himself as a “relatively high-profile” 30-year-old who lives in a flat in the Aldgate area of London.

At the time, New Zealand-born Wootton was a senior showbusiness journalist at the Sun who had just turned 30 and, the Guardian understands, was living in a flat in Aldgate.

Lee said he met Branning, whom he recalls as having a New Zealand accent, as planned. At first Lee did not think there was anything odd about the encounter. “I was always under the impression he was Martin Branning,” Lee said.

This apparently changed soon afterwards, when Lee claims he was followed on Twitter by a journalist called Dan Wootton. Lee said he was shocked because the profile picture on Wootton’s account was the face of the “Martin Branning” he met.

Oops. :D

Hmm - we seem to have missed the latest Byline Times story about Wootton yesterday

Dan Wootton’s Celebrity Targets Revealed – Byline Times

In the eighth part of its three-year special investigation into the private and professional conduct of GB News star Dan Wootton, Byline Times uncovers how the powerful journalist used the pretext of ‘underwear modelling’ to target young reality TV personalities. Here, for the first time, these people in the public eye speak out

Dan Wootton met young male reality TV stars through his work as a prominent showbusiness journalist and then privately propositioned them to do photo shoots at his home for “underwear brands” in an “abhorrent abuse of power”, Byline Times can reveal. Among those Wootton targeted over an eight-year period between 2011 and 2019 – during which he was working for The Sun, ITV and the Daily Mail – were The Only Way is Essex star Kirk Norcoss, Big Brother contestant JJ Bird, and an X Factor singer who was just out of his teens. Each had first encountered Wootton – today a star presenter on GB News – as a result of their involvement in the television industry, on which it was his highly-paid job to report and through which he enjoyed a powerful media influence.

And then the article get's going including screencaps of text message extracts. Sample extract:

Another celebrity, whom Byline Times is not identifying, did accept Wootton’s offer.

He said: “Dan invited me to do a ‘test shoot’ for some underwear brand for £1,000. I went along thinking it was a semi-pro shoot and might help my career because Dan was, at the time, on ITV’s Lorraine show and working for the biggest papers. The ‘studio’ was just his front room. It felt really awkward, especially as he was so well-known. There was nobody else there, just us. There was no backdrop or anything like that. Despite Dan telling me it was a shoot for these ‘brands’ he just gave me normal boxer shorts to wear, and I changed into them in his bedroom.

“I thought it was all strange but rolled with it. He was so influential I didn’t want to offend him somehow. Then the stuff he was asking me to wear became more and more revealing and alarm bells started to ring. He brought out latex stuff, which I refused to wear. He also asked me to pose nude but I refused to do that too. The whole situation was weird and was not what I was expecting. Dan refused to pay me the full fee we’d agreed because I wouldn’t go nude. It creeped me out.”

At the end:

This newspaper [ie Byline Times] has information regarding other individuals in the public eye and their interactions with Dan Wootton, which it will be publishing in due course, as part of the second phase of this #MediaToo investigation.

Seems the problem is much wider than wootton which will come as no surpise to anyone

In two other incidents of alleged sexual harassment at GB News, which did not lead to threats of legal action, this newspaper has learned that a female journalist was told by two senior male colleagues to “put a bag” on her head as she was too “ugly” – while another encouraged her to “open your legs” in order to advance her career.
The claim naming Mr Frangopoulos, a married father of five, made allegations that he propositioned and declared feelings for a female member of staff in a late-night phone call after work drinks in 2021.

Having been rebuffed, Mr Frangopoulos then allegedly undermined and marginalised the woman in her role before she left and got employment lawyers to negotiate a settlement with the channel.
The source, referring to a period in 2022, also painted a picture of a racially divided newsroom in which staff of colour tended to work separately from white colleagues.

An actual serious question of course is whether it's appropriate for this firm to have regulars on the payroll who are also representatives of the Crown (Lee Anderson MP, Jacob Rees Mogg MP, Philip Davies MP) – and what did these people see but not report while they were moonlighting?

Simple answer. Scum like those really couldn't give a serious fuck.

Matthew Sweet is happy to report that Neil Oliver is entirely dewormed.

Happy to report Neil entirely dewormed. Can Ivermectin deal with globalist parasites, tho? That's what all sensible horses are asking.

Another shocker from Matthew Sweet - although to be fair being liked by Nick Griffin doesn't presumably mean you like or follow Mr Griffin.

I'd never heard of James Melville, but he does have a way with words!

I see Mr Oliver has done the stereotypical right-wing chud thing of wearing sunglasses in his avatar.

I not remember seeing this on thread, sorry if it has already been posted.

Funny how Grind coffee cancelling their ads on GB News, and Laurence Fox starting a boycott against the brand, back-fired and caused a peak in sales, they dedicated a billboard to him, full of nice tweets they received in support, I bet all this has pissed him off! :D

In a shocking development, I caught my dad watching GB News today and threatened to disown him for watching such racist awfulness.

He said because the guest speaker was Asian it couldn't possibly be racist. I just didn't have the words.

Anyway, he stopped watching it in front of me, so the viewership figures were minus one this afternoon.

He did try to tell me it was quality TV. I nearly broke his iPad.
