GB News: a thread so you never have to watch it

I feel quite unclean after watching the intro to the Mogg show. He told us that the Mediterranean fires happen every year, so we shouldn't be concerned (or in his words greens are overreacting to everything).
I just can't bear to watch that cunt - he's so profoundly obnoxious. Drives my blood pressure through the roof. His smug voice is infuriating.

I know what you mean. It sounds like he's talking in Vic Reeves' club singer style.

He followed Farage though, who I'd be even more inclined to miss, even before this week.
I always think his way of speaking is totally put on which I can't stand - whereas NF is just a cunt so is less annoying.

Hope someone starts a Mediterranean fire in his smug face

That police statement is just saying they're looking into whether a crime has been committed and until then there's no [criminal] investigation. Suggesting there's some co-ordinated cover-up by the police on this is a very much jumping the gun and imaging some conspiracy where there's no evidence for one.

Fair comment - police say they were only contacted last month.

I've never watched it. I don't even know what channel it's on. so why read a 146 page thread about it?
I think partly because its significance is inflated by other, more established and more popular media. Question Time, for example, seems to have a lot of people on who are GBN presenters, although a lot of them are MPs too.

I know reading Twitter threads is like putting my hand in a piranha tank but I really wish I hadn't rea the comments on Darren Grimes' latest whinefest, claiming people just hate him because he hasn't got a degree. No Darren, it's because you're an idiot. Boris Johnson and, indeed, most of the Tory government prove that you can have a degree and still be as thick as two short planks. Most of that lot are Oxbridge-educated, for fuck's sake. I also remember the same lot looking down on Angela Rayner for being a bartender but sure, the left are the only snobs.

What really depresses me is the idea that all degrees that aren't STEM are 'Mickey Mouse', and universities are worthless because all they do is brainwash people into being left-wing (Conservative Future and quite a lot of my fellow Jewish Society members missed that memo). I did languages (German and Spanish) and I also did an MA in Translation Studies, because I wanted to be a translator and a lot of agencies do expect you to have a qualification. I'm also autistic and going to university really helped me become independent, and a lot of autistic people don't even make it that far. I dropped out temporarily in second year after a mental breakdown in 2005, but I went back and finished my degree, but according to these people it's worthless. And that hurts, because I worked really fucking hard on that Mickey Mouse degree and it has helped me get a job, and if I hadn't gone to university I would still be living with my parents and doing temp work, and doubtless the same people would call me a leech or a sponge or a pathetic womanchild.

For those who haven't been following this very entertaining saga the latest of Byline's articles about Wootton was out today. It appeared about the same time that Press Gazette broke the story that DMG Media had 'paused' his Daily Mail column.

Dan Wootton and Martin Branning – The Proof – Byline Times

GB News star Dan Wootton twice used an identical password as the catfishing pseudonyms ‘Martin Branning’ and ‘Maria Joseph’ to subscribe to a movie-sharing website, Byline Times can reveal. The presenter used the password along with the email addresses for his private web domain danwootton.com and also his official News of the World account. They were leaked and published on a publicly-available data breach directory in October 2018. Alongside Wootton’s two email addresses revealed in a dump of log-in details for 743,280 users of the defunct film-indexing service ‘MyDVD.overhere.com’ were the email addresses Byline Times revealed ‘Branning’ and ‘Joseph’ had used to trick and bribe scores of men into sharing compromising sexual material over at least a 10-year period. All four of the accounts used the same unusual eight-character password. To protect Wootton’s privacy, this newspaper is not publishing the password – which his new representatives today appeared to confirm was indeed used by the journalist.

Peter Jukes on X-Twitter:
This was a funny moment with Wootton’s new lawyers. Their response to the information we provided them was to accuse us of hacking their client and saying they would be making a criminal complaint to the police…

Thereby confirming the passwords were indeed Wootton’s
