The soldier was injured during the attack but will survive, according to a police source who spoke to the news agency.
French daily Le Parisien cited police sources as saying the suspected attacker was a bearded man, about 30-years-old and was wearing an Arab-style garment under his jacket.
He fled the scene and is being sought by police.
The soldier was patrolling the business area of western Paris as part of France's Vigipirate anti-terrorist surveillance plan.
The great success of the Islamoshites of Woolwich was to butcher and posture so publicly. For the news media, the photos and the recordings were irresistible. The crime has been seen worldwide. The images will have encouraged their thinkalikes to act similarly.
Perhaps this Islamic gentleman in Paris would have done his thang anyway sooner or later, but it seems likely that Woolwich was a prompt to get on with it.
And it's constant irresponsible media coverage that helps fuel future attacks. Same for when some twat goes psycho in a cinema in the US with guns... they create a media circus, and make the perp into a celebrity. Well played.

"gentleman"?
I was just thinking that. Its a bit mad that the French Army are patrolling Paris as part of an "anti-terrorist surveillance plan", tbh.

I remember going to Paris about 12 years ago and the airport was full of soldiers wandering about with big fuck-off guns. Bit of a culture shock.

You are so right on that, they make yanks look good.Respect duefor appearing in public with a beret like that on even the raf would think twice before wearing something like that.
Armed plod at heathrow gives you some idea of what to expect when you travel abroad from these sceptred isles.Really? There's Plod with sub-machine guns doing their we're-here-so-you-feel-safer thang at British airports too. I've sort of got used to it, though of course I'm more used to gunless Plod. The greater kulcha shock for me is the Soldiers of Allah hacking heads off. I'm just not used to it (yet).

Now you have me trying to figure out your location, Portugal?I live in the heart of a sceptered peninsula (well, most of it is sceptered) about 800 miles from Heathrow. Yes, plod has guns and in some places sub-machine guns, but mostly he keeps his little pistol discreetly in its holster.

Andalusia? No, Portugal is not sceptered and is on the edge, not in the heart, of the peninsula.
A bit further north...
