First Official Portrait of Kate Middleton

i mean you might speculate she has self-harmed or been seriouslly harmed. But the image has been manipulated amidst questons about where she has gone.

You could maybe get issues like that with a photo if it's combining several frames for HDR and the people are moving.

A standard and commonly used approach to obtain an HDR image is the multiple exposures' fusion technique which consists of combining multiple images of the same scene with varying exposure times. However, if the scene is not static during the sequence acquisition, moving objects manifest themselves as ghosting artefacts in the final HDR image.

The newer iphones can get some weird effects due to the "ai" image processing too, like this.

The fingers thing is a red herring. Little kids are flexible and I can do that with my fingers without too much effort anyway. It's the sort of thing a kid might do to distract themselves from a slightly stressful formal situation where they're being directed to stand a certain way and smile.

It's surely just a shoddy bit of post-processing though you'd think they or the teams they hire might realise they can't get away with what others might on social media. Though probably no-one would have noticed if they'd gone full cutesy filter.

Maybe I should take this to suburban, but can anyone identify the plant, and if is should have all its leaves first week of March?

It is reassuring to see the royal painter and decorator is about as good as me with masking tape on window frames.

Weather inside a vivarium isn't governed by the seasons but by the need to keep the cold blooded warm.

I can't do it without nearly dislocating my other fingers. Plus try doing it with index folded in?

Exactly. Or 39 year olds  :D

In my case, think it's a bit of an ND thing (both the habit, but also the ability, apparently), but I twist my fingers in knots all the time.

This. Digital sensors sometimes produce odd results due to image combining.

Check out my right arm in this pic where I'm holding the crutch:

Nothing that has been mentioned in the press about the image is particularly unusual, except perhaps that she's not wearing a wedding ring.

Apparently also the shrub behind them "is in full bloom despite it being March". I'm looking out of the window now and it seems like every bush in this part of London, as well as a few cherry trees are misbehaving for this time of year.

Heh, they are so fucking shit they can’t even take a photo without it going tits up. And if you dive in in to the cesspit that is The Mail you may see them being not so rabid about slagging off Harry and what’s her face. Tide’s turning for the Prince of Pegging…

It is astonishing that an institution whose only job is PR can be this fucking shit at it. I suppose if your institution is based on the premise that we're all adoring, cap-doffing plebs you might underestimate the ability to spot a shitty photoshop.

If William turns out to be an obvious rotter in the public's imagination then they might be in deep trouble, eh? This could be interesting.

And as to The Fragrant Kate’s disappearing act, truth is she went on a Jaegermeister and Coke bender on New Year’s Eve and came to on 3rd January with a large swastika tattoo in a prominent place. When she does actually reappear you’ll see she sports a massive lobster tat and there’ll be some bumflufferies in the press about King George the something or other having been in to ink and this is her tribute to him.

Pound the server fund if I’m wrong on this.
