I don’t give a shit about the royals but I am a terrible gossip about celebs so I’m sorry and I am ashamed of my interest.

A photo was published abroad of someone who looks like Kate in a car with her mother. In the photo she is very puffy in the face, classic moon face appearance apparently seen when people are on high doses of steroids I think.

This sparked loads of speculation about what was wrong with her etc so I guess this picture is to counter that. I have no fucking idea why they didn’t continue with ‘this is none of your business’ line rather than publish a photo to prove what, she’s not puffy?

Or release a photo for Mother’s Day and admit it’s an old one.

It’s all bonkers and sending the royal nut jobs even nuttier!

The 'edited' bit of this photo is really easily explained. The various artefacts look exactly like what happens when you use automated AI-assisted software for manipulation, e.g. panoramic stitching, where it partially fails to make sense of compositions. And there are various use cases to explain why that would come about, like Google's 'best take' feature on Pixel phones. You take a bunch of shots, it figures out who is smiling and has their eyes open etc, and turns it into one image without the photographer consciously doing anything other than initiating it.

I wouldn't say it covers all of the mysterious elements about this episode but a lot of the questioning around the actual image manipulation is probably misguided.

Nothing that has been mentioned in the press about the image is particularly unusual, except perhaps that she's not wearing a wedding ring.

Apparently also the shrub behind them "is in full bloom despite it being March". I'm looking out of the window now and it seems like every bush in this part of London, as well as a few cherry trees are misbehaving for this time of year.

I can't see anything wrong with the image of your right arm.

Well, she could have done, my father used to take family photos, by putting the camera on a timer, then getting in front of it.

But, the story is Will took it with her camera, and she edited it in photoshop.

Sky News has looked at the meta data and it was taken with a proper camera, IIRC a Canon, then opened and re-saved in photo-shop twice.
