The sergeant, who was attached to Specialist Operations, has been suspended from duty. He will next appear at Southwark Crown Court on 22 March.

The charge against 54-year-old Steven Walters, who left the force in 2016, alleges that on 14 July 2013 while acting as a police constable, he wilfully misconducted himself by engaging in inappropriate sexual activity with a woman.

And the Met have published the outcome of a gross misconduct hearing on January 30th against former Special Constable Benedict Ashton.

Ashton had resigned but the hearing concluded that had he not done so he would have been sacked. Ashton still faces criminal proceedings and the details of what he was accused of have been redacted from this report of the decision made by the hearing. I am given to understand that charges relate to possession of indecent images of children and that he was arrested following a referral by the National Crime Agency regarding alleged online activity. The report does state

He made full admissions at the earliest stage but it is difficult to see what else he could have done or what effect this could have on the misconduct outcome.

Humberside Police inspector who groped vulnerable sacked - BBC News

Sacked Inspector Craig Mattinson

Craig Mattinson, 47, had denied claims he inappropriately touched the pair, then aged 14 and 17, between April 2003 and April 2005. On Thursday, the panel said it accepted the victims' accounts, describing the officer's actions as "unprofessional, sexual and inappropriate". (...)

During the proceedings, it emerged Mr Mattinson had two previous marks against his name. In 2001, he admitted sending a message to a 15-year-old girl, which prompted a complaint from her mother. For this, Mr Mattinson was given a superintendent's warning. And in 2003 he admitted having sex with a burglary victim, prompting "management advice". (...)

Despite this, it emerged he had twice been promoted - to sergeant in 2007 and then to inspector in 2012.

The Met have published the outcome of a misconduct hearing into former Special Constable Tharmaseelan Vishnuthevan. It was alleged that:
During the period 2018 – 2020 MSC Vishnuthevan engaged in a pattern of abusive, controlling and coercive behaviour against his wife.

Huh I appear to have been shaking hands incorrectly my whole life as I have never shaken hands with my boob.

Not that I condone violence but that twat deserves a massive slap for having the audacity to use such an 'explanation'.
On 22 February 2023, serving Metropolitan Police officer, PC Fabian Aguilar-Delgado was acquitted at Southwark Crown Court of a charge of sexual touching of a woman aged 16 and over without her consent at Sidney Road, south Norwood on 24 May 2020.

The alleged assault took place after PC Fabian Aguilar-Delgado offered to search her house for her abusive ex-partner while his colleague was in the car outside. During the trial, the complainant said of PC Fabian Aguilar-Delgado, who was new to the job and had not been issued with a body worn camera:

"He’s in front of me and he started to really French kiss me. I kind of pushed back,” she said.

“He put his hands down my top, pulled out my boobs and started sucking on my boobs.

“I sat down on the bed because I was more or less pushed down there, and he said: ‘Look, I’ve got a hard-on’, and pointed to the front of his trousers.”

The woman, who jurors were told is alcohol-dependent, said she later called police to report being “touched up” by PC Fabian Aguilar-Delgado because she felt she had been “violated”.

“I thought he might come and kill me or all the officers might gang up on me … and now I won’t even ring the police. I’m too scared.”

The woman denied lying about the incident under cross-examination, telling PC Fabian Aguilar-Delgado's barrister Robert Morris: “I have been through so much domestic violence in my life, do you really think I want to come to court today about a police officer touching me up? No.

“This police officer did this to me.”

20111224082822!Metropolitan_Police_Logo.png

The trial heard that PC Fabian Aguilar-Delgado's DNA was later found on swabs on the woman’s right nipple and breast.

Asked how he thought his DNA got onto the woman's breast, PC Fabian Aguilar-Delgado said he had been close to her 'talking loudly' and 'maybe spitting or coughing', as well as 'touching handles' in her home.

PC Fabian Aguilar-Delgado also suggested the transfer may have been as a result of her shaking his hand.

Hampshire Police have suspended PC John Apter, who has also been served with a notice of investigation for potential breaches of police professional standards relating to four separate alleged incidents.

PC John Apter has also been advised that he is subject to criminal investigation, for sexual touching contrary to section 3 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003, in relation to two of those alleged incidents, which reportedly relate to incidents at the Police Bravery Awards earlier this month.

Just coming to post about him describing most rape complaints as 'regretful sex'.

Which remindined me of that rapist's dad who said his son shouldn't be penalised for '20 minutes of fun', and not in a good way. Rapist was called Brock something (he was convicted).

I think there are some men out there who just don't get how serious rape is and can be from a woman's point of view.

I think there are some men out there who just don't get how serious rape is and can be from a woman's point of view.
Sadly, I think you are right. A lot of people seem stuck in that pre-date rape era and think it's only rape if a woman is attacked by a stranger lurking in the bushes. Whereas what stats there are, aside from the underreporting issue, show that stranger-danger rape is the least frequently occurring type of rape. Most rapes occur where the people are known to each other in some context beforehand.

That context can be anything.

From one of the numerous articles on the BBC website, this one details how the police had opportunities to stop Couzens if only the police involved had:
  • run numberplate searches after being given CCTV of his numberplate by the McDonald's workers reporting him for indecent exposure
  • investigated him on three separate occasions for indecent exposure
  • taken statements from witnesses

I.e. done their jobs.

This is more than bad apples. This is an institution where people are reporting crimes to them ,(and crimes typically underreported at that) and the police are doing nothing.

It's not even a case 'that copper Couzens has been running around with his dick out again, but he's a copper so we'll let it slide, guv', they didn't even bother with the crime.

As seen with missing people in Cardiff (who had sadly driven off the road' when one of the parents phoned the police for updates she was told to stop phoning them, it's institutional incompetence across the board. It seems in the Cardif case nothing was learned from a similar accident near Perth a few years ago, when Police Scotland were shown to be quite inept and both occupants died.

I despair.
