Radio 4 only came into existence in 1967 so Goon Show and Hancock would pre-date Radio 4.


Oh, and I used to have the League of Gentlemen radio 4 shows on tape and they were pretty good. Right now I'm listening to Radio 4's adaptations of Disc World novels which do make me laugh quite a bit, though i guess that's usually down to lines written by Terry Pratchett.
