There is bound to be some other things at play here. A lot of people upset that israel took part will boycott. They will not have voted. A lot of people that are pro israel who would not otherwise have bothered will have voted for israel.

I only really watched as the results were coming in - but I did see the French entry, which I thought was quite powerful - powerful enough to fetch me out of the kitchen to see what was going on.
Of all the "flashes" of video the one from Georgia very much caught my attention.
Someone has posted a blow by blow account of the situation with the Dutch contestant.
Seems to me that demanding docility from a performer who has only recently tols then not to film him going to the dressing room is idiotic.
These people must be surging with hormones. Why are a female camera crew's hormones morally superior to a male performer?

As I understand it Klein was keyed up after the performance and wanted to be left alone but the camerawoman kept filming him. He apparently made a gesture which she interpreted as threatening and the EBU? took her side. She disputes his version and (I think) said that it's in the contract that she could film. The Dutch took Klein's side and said it was intolerable that he was thrown out.
