That bit when they formed- I'm trying to think of something other than a human centipede- was hilarious!I woke up with Cha Cha Cha in my head. Proper Eurovision catchy tune and a great performance, they proper went for it. Dance moves and silly outfits the lot.
It feels like this thread should have scattered kitsch hats, perhaps a coffee table with a number of glasses, bottles of prosecco and assorted citrus fruit slices. And someone still asleep on the sofa.
Yeah like that tedious wanker in a long leather coat the other year. We have got it so very wrong for so many years.I am so emotional. I am never proud of the UK, tonight for a pop competition I am.
Edit. We didn't win, but we also didn't fuck it up and that is amazing right now.
No - and it's also a shame that they don't say the country names in French any more. No more will children wonder what on earth they are saying when they say "wyomini"They don't say "nul points", "dix points" etc no more. Cultural vandalism.
That's just it with the UK entries. We seem to think that what we do is so much better than these other silly European nations and then year after year, we wonder why it falls flat on its arse.I’ve never been able to back the UK in anything tbh. Something in me just can’t. It’s to do with our smugness and entitledness when it comes to these things. I just feel we don’t deserve any awards for anything at all
There was one that started in English then announced "douze points a ...." and the country in French can't remember who or which country though. No - and it's also a shame that they don't say the country names in French any more. Mrs tag says no television trickery, it took around 40 seconds for the turn aroundPresumably they have more than 1 stage or how do they go so quickly between songs?

Croatia was much much better than I remember, I excitedly posted ALLIGATOR PSYCHOPATH! as we had subtitles on and could see all the lyrics. Remember shouting the šč! bit. It's an anti war/putin song.We all shouted out human centipede when they did that too
Best Eurovision in years. None of us has a printer, so we put bingo categories up on post-it notes on the wall and raced to be the first to spot one.
I put the playlist on this morning to see if I still liked the songs as much as I did under the influence of friends and alcohol, and yes, there are only a couple of weak songs really, the rest are genuinely good songs. Even the ballady ones are pretty enjoyable as songs rather than as Eurovision entries. And there was a song about Edgar Allan Poe!
I was at the dress rehearsal. Each staging appeared on the stage as lines/shapes to assist with the backstage crew.Presumably they have more than 1 stage or how do they go so quickly between songs?

It took mostly 30-40 seconds per act. Loreen needed more because of the sheer size of the "presses".

Did she have a great time? Was it worth the ticket kerfuffle? Is she hoarse from all the cheering and singing?Mrs tag says no television trickery, it took around 40 seconds for the turn around
She is full of it and says it's something everyone should go to at least once.
She had a fantastic time cheers. Still hoarse and knackered. Was it worth the hassle, yes, I guess so. She said it is was of those must do things.Did she have a great time? Was it worth the ticket kerfuffle? Is she hoarse from all the cheering and singing?
