I have been singing the UK entry for about a week I am 100% hungover today.I woke up with the winner in my head. And weirdly now the UK entry.
The performance wasn't good and the song, although decent catchy pop, seemed lazy.they should fuck off the judges panel - made worse by we have no idea what criteria they are voting on. Finland and croatias panel votes were massively out of step with the public vote in particular.
Cant quite work out why uk did so poorly - the song wasnt terrible (and the gammons hated her cos she slagged off boris johnson - so she derversed better) - but I think it came bottom in the popular vote. UK beat germany - but seeing as they were actively going for nul points while the uk were trying to actually win, that is pretty embarassing.

I'm doing my best to oblige, here. And someone still asleep on the sofa.
Eh, I don't know. I can certainly remember when it was all public vote and it was an absolute shitstorm of people voting for their neighbours.I never thought I'd say it but I think they should do away with the jury votes now. It just seems totally irrelevant and unnecessary. You know now that it means absolutely nothing and the contest is not won until the public vote comes in.
I think it would lose something to not have the representative of each country announcing the vote but they could just give the telephone votes.
It needs to change.
Hmmm....you have a point I guess.Eh, I don't know. I can certainly remember when it was all public vote and it was an absolute shitstorm of people voting for their neighbours.
yes agree...new system is better, but still liable to shenanigansEh, I don't know. I can certainly remember when it was all public vote and it was an absolute shitstorm of people voting for their neighbours.
yeah its a farce anyway, so whatever. im just a bit sad its not as funny anymore and pop music has become so much like eurovison/britains got talent etc mulch
To be absolutely honest, I don't care as long as it keeps going. I don't really care who wins. I just bloody love it.
I just got up!I'm doing my best to oblige, here.
The jury votes are just as political. They vote for their friends and neighbours. And for whoever’s just been invaded by Russia.Yeah, if they did away with the jury vote, I guarantee it would be back within a decade after people complain that the fan vote is "too political", "just countries voting for their mates" and "bots, bad faith actors, VPNs", etc, etc.
What would the criteria be? The only honest one would be ‘what is the best song?’they should fuck off the judges panel - made worse by we have no idea what criteria they are voting on. Finland and croatias panel votes were massively out of step with the public vote in particular.
