England v Germany

I was expecting it, especially as a good German mate of mine is going to be watching this at Glastonbury on Sunday. Should be an interesting environment, not sure if people will be still interested in football at that point of the festival.

The great thing about playing Germany is we always come away with a "moral victory" even when we really don't deserve it. Every so often we even win, though generally when we don't deserve it either.

I'm hoping Lennon is picked, because there are only two real weaknesses in that German side. Not having a good left back, and Merteszacker being somewhat cumbersome at left central defender.

Anyhow. It's a "proper" world cup with an England Germany match.

My german ex housemate will be well up for this. Unfortunately not a good sign for England as he has already planned a party in celebration of Germany winning the world cup

Credit to Pigherder or whatever his name means, he took this kick in the bollocks with a lot more dignity than could reasonably be expected:

But thats what EVERY COUNTRY DOES. Or atleast the main nations.

Well,i'm not sure about that.
They don't call on a "God" to save them,
And their Queen.

They don't sing about how they,
Rule the waves !

They don't mention the war,
And the Great Escape,
It means nothing to them.
It means nothing to me !

Come on Germany !

Fancy.

All together now "two world wars and one world cup " :p

I've never got that one. The world wars, fair enough, although an odd thing to celebrate.

But the world cup? You people do realise they have won three, don't you? And three european championships, too, including that one in 1996 when, apparently, football was due to come home...

They're missing a trick there, not making up a song about it.
