In years to come, it will be talked about in the same breath as 70s Ajax "Total Football". The Southgate way, a team made entirely of right-backs.
Nations league. Moneymaking but otherwise entirely pointless racket dreamt up by UEFAI think it's World Cup qualifying but no idea what we have to do.

I thought it was to do with the Euros ?I think it's World Cup qualifying but no idea what we have to do.

Out of curiosity; why so?Nations League is the best thing to happen to international football in years.

This was really great fun - Faroe Islands scoring a last minute winner against Malta to make it 3-2
- Competitive matches against high quality opposition replace meaningless friendlies
- an alternative opportunity for nations to win a trophy outside of a major tournament
- a route through to Euro qualifying for successful minor nations, e.g. North Macedonia and Georgia both won their Nations League groups, and will now compete for a place at the European Championships
- Genuinely competitive matches between minor nations, who normally just got spanked in every match by major nations. Just look at Georgia, Luxembourg and Azerbaijan scoring goals and winning matches for once. You really love to see it.
None of this happened until the Nations League came along, and I think it's been wonderful for revitalising what were mainly extremely tedious international breaks that were filled with pointless friendlies or foregone conclusions in qualifying groups.
I think it's easy for fans of major nations who regularly get to big tournaments to write off the Nations League as a money-making gimmick, but even if you put aside the opportunity for more matches against high quality nations with a possible trophy at the end of it, it's been fantastic for giving meaningful competition to minor countries like Kosovo, Belarus and Scotland.Yes, some interesting points there, certainly food for thought

Scotland.
Scotland.
Actually yes, that's a very good point (notwithstanding the gleeful dig at our Caledonian cousins!). It may be my reflex distrust of UEFA which made me dislike it.I think it's easy for fans of major nations who regularly get to big tournaments to write off the Nations League as a money-making gimmick, but even if you put aside the opportunity for more matches against high quality nations with a possible trophy at the end of it, it's been fantastic for giving meaningful competition to minor countries like Kosovo, Belarus and Scotland.
Last year's assists are last year's news, buddyyyyyyyyyyyy.
Yup.I'd like to see Ings play he brought a real energy which is what England often lack, they often look like they could play really well but just can't be arsed, passing it across the back four then up to the middle three then back to the back four and back to the goalie for safety's sake - with Grealish too yes.
Yup.
Out of condition Kane/Henderson or fit and playing brilliantly Ings/Grealish.
Was just an exampleHenderson doesn't play the same position as Grealish, that's a daft comparison. It's Mount or Grealish.
Kane has 8 goals and 6 assists in 7 games this season. If this is him out of condition, can't wait to see him fit and firing.
