England Cricket 2024

Wow, who expected this then. All about the pressure now isn't it, it's fine being good players of spin but that doesn't account for the pressure of the match situation.

On TV they just announced that total attendance for the first four days is over 100,000.

That's like filling The Oval every day.

The difference being of course, that The Oval would be sold out several times over every day.

It's because Indian stadiums are built with one thing in mind, IPL.

The only place in the world where test cricket sells out every time is England. Despite the ridiculous prices.

And that's a recent phenomenon. Was not at all true back in the 80s. You'd fill the ground just about on a Saturday, and that was it. Empty for the last two days.

You'd be permanently depressed in Australia, then. Even on Boxing Day, the G is only two thirds full.

That's down to a few things though, mainly because the MCG is fucking massive, Australia has a tiny population, and it's too far for travelling supporters except the half dozen or so that get over from NZ.

India has a population of over a billion people, most of whom are cricket nuts. They really should be doing better with attendances.

He's terrible actually. Only just tuning in. He's pitching it half way down the track every second ball.
