Donald Trump - MAGAtwat news and discussion

Id like to point out as I have before, the Hypocrisy in this place.
Yes the Guy is a cunt, but its nother example of body shaming getting a free pass if its directed at a cunt.
Don't waste your keyboards life trying to give me shit for repeatedly pointing out this hypocrisy though I know some can't resist, usually the supposed woke warriors (or so they believe themselves to be)...cos guess what, I think you're a twats too....P.S. Have a great day...twat

☺️

Tell us what "woke" means

butthead the pedo is withdrawing

had nothing to do with him being a pedo mind
:D

Far be it for me to defend this loathsome pos but why is he being called a paedophile? Pedo seems to have become some bizarre but wholly innacurate shorthand for all types of sexual abuse involving minors. Paedophilia refers to sex with (and sexual abuse of) prepubescent children. His trafficked and sexually abused victims were minors, yes, but aged 17 and over.

Surely he has enough bonafide charges on his disgusting crime sheet without needing to add this one which has no basis in fact?

Trump has just Trust Social'd that he will implement, immediately, 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada, and 10% on China.

an additional 10% on China, above any other additional taxes.

It's not exactly clear, but they're definitely not being tariffed at lower rates than Mexico & Canada.

If you read it he inevitably works migrants into it, I can't imagine people are fleeing Canada for the US other way round maybe.

I'm sure those tariffs will vindicate those among the electorate that voted Republican because their grocery bills were too onerous.
I think there is too much focus being put on tariffs. I don't see them happening to anything like the scale claimed. They will announce some big numbers with lots of bluster, but in the detail they will be limited with lots of exceptions and loop holes.

Part of me wants them to totally tank their own economy so I can at least point and laugh while the word burns, but I don't see them doing a Truss.

Of course I could be completely wrong, they are fucking stupid after all.

People are still making the mistake of thinking he won't do these things because "surely no-one would be stupid enough to do that".

Yes he will.

I'm sure he will do lots of stupid things. But I think some things, like the tariffs will be getting a lot of push back from people with a lot of money so they will be heavily watered down.

But then Truss happened so it's certainly possible they will go ahead close to what he claimed. And he will blame it on left wing markets and shit like she did, difference is his followers will believe it.

I'm just wary of the emphasis I see being put on the economy from people opposing him, if he doesn't tank the economy and if in fact it does quite well what then? I fully understand the motivation for it, but I'm not sold that him fucking up the economy is guaranteed. And even if he does it could take a couple of years so things might look good in the short term.

If it's not tariffs, it'll be some other policies and decisions that will fuck things up for the ordinary American. Even if the economy "does well".

If I’m really honest with myself, I’m not even sure that I’m politically anti-tariff on principle. The biggest argument against them is surely that they risk raising prices for the ordinary citizen. But the thing in their favour is that they localise production. Since the increase in cost of purchase essentially comes from the higher wage cost of manufacture, it’s not obvious that the net effect is detrimental to the average worker (albeit that there are winners and losers in the distribution of the consequences). Of course, it fucks up conditions elsewhere, but that’s a completely different issue anyway.

Anyway, the point being that I agree it is not necessarily good strategy to put your eggs in the basket of crowing about how bad Trump will be for “the economy”. People don’t ultimately care about some abstract “the economy”. They care about their economic circumstances. Two different things.

Trump's not entirely making it up - it's easier for people of some nationalities to get into Canada than the US and there is a thriving trade in smuggling them across the border in remote areas, though I don't know how Trump expects Canada to fully secure its side of a 5,525-mile border when the US isn't doing so itself

American interceptions of irregular migrants in the Swanton sector of southern Quebec, which borders New York and Vermont states, have exploded in recent months.

Since January, a record 13,000 people have been arrested after clandestinely crossing the border from southern Quebec into the U.S. — almost 9,000 between May and July alone. That's a 526 per cent increase since 2022.

The vast majority of the people intercepted are Indian or Bangladeshi and have been living in Canada on student or tourist visas.
