Donald Trump - MAGAtwat news and discussion

A self-proclaimed ‘progressive feminist’ writes the following in an op piece for the Torygraph:

Of course, Trump is not perfect – who is when we’re talking about American politicians? But practically, to many of us, he offers hope for a strong America, with protections for free speech and democracy, and a restoration of women’s rights. He offers unpopular, uncouth truths and a humanness that we aren’t used to seeing in politicians – refreshing to many.

:facepalm: :facepalm: :facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

(Not gonna bother linking to that shit)

Is the Torygraph British?

If so, but specifying it would seem to imply that American politicians are not perfect, but yours are?

Maybe he should have skipped the American part.

Sorry to be curious

why?
/teacher

but what language are your laws written in?

english

Do you have to translate the laws into various languages?

yes, in NYS

I guess that those Americans who demand people speak English really don't have a legal leg to stand on.

true. and in a historical irony, john adams' bill to make english official was opposed, in part, as an intrusion on individual liberty. the "me big patriot/muh libbity" crowd today wouldn't talk like that.

Tldr?

Over 100 hours of JE on Trump. Cue spokespersons trashing the author and accusations of election interference.

The Guardian recently revealed that in 1993 Epstein had taken Stacey Williams, a Sports Illustrated model and his girlfriend of two months, to Trump’s Fifth Avenue penthouse and allowed or perhaps encouraged the former US president to grope her in what she described as a “twisted game”.‘

Just couldn’t hope more that he loses and gets locked up for the remainder of his short, rancid life.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if anything much comes of this but I'm not holding my breath, Michael Wolff is kind of a bullshitter, I think if he actually had something explosive on tape he would have led with it instead of sharing this kind of stuff:

The Fire and Fury tapes reveal Epstein recalling how then president Trump played his circle off against each other. “His people fight each other and then he poisons the well outside,” he says.

The author names Steve Bannon, Reince Priebus and Kellyanne Conway as being among the acolytes and officials Trump played off each other like courtiers in a competitive court.

“He will tell 10 people ‘Bannon’s a scumbag’ and ‘Priebus is not doing a good job’ and ‘Kellyanne has a big mouth – what do you think?’

“‘[JPMorgan Chase CEO] Jamie Dimon says that you’re a problem and I shouldn’t keep you. And I spoke to [financier] Carl Icahn. And Carl thinks I need a new spokesperson.’”

Apparently the order of candidates is chosen by a lottery-style drawing of letters under a system that has been in place for almost 50 years, so Trump supporters can't really claim "election interference" here - if alphabetical order made a real difference you'd probably see a lot more fringe candidates with names like Aaron Aardman. The order of letters is also rotated by district so the candidates aren't in the same order on ballots across the state.

On the 82nd day before an election, the Secretary of State conducts a randomized drawing of letters of the alphabet pursuant to California Elections Code section 13112. The resulting order of letters constitutes the "randomized alphabet" to be used for determining the order of candidates' names on the ballot.

This procedure was established by legislation passed in 1975 in response to court rulings declaring that standard alphabetical order or incumbent-first was unconstitutional.

Only in America could the alphabet be deemed unconstitutional

More on totally trustworthy Musk's Super PAC.

The PAC has reportedly received a large quantity of suspicious data from its canvassers, following reports that some had learned how to spoof their location to create the impression that they’d visited voters’ homes.

Earlier this month, data leaks revealed that roughly 24 percent of door-knocks in Arizona and 25 percent of door-knocks in Nevada in a single week had been flagged as “unusual,” an internal metric used to indicate fake door-knocks. America PAC has spent more than $54 million on its vendor in those states, Blitz Canvassing, which is also organizing efforts in Michigan and North Carolina. Blitz Canvassing is one of four vendors employed by the PAC.

The PAC has pushed back on reports that fake canvassing was impeding Trump’s get-out-the-vote effort.
America PAC has also reportedly engaged in dubious treatment of its canvassers. Two canvassers anonymously told NBC News they were made to knock on doors outside of Charlotte, North Carolina, as Hurricane Helene rolled in on September 27.

One of them said that their direct manager told them to go door to door, despite leadership instructing them to make calls instead.

Super  Will be interesting to see whether this does have an effect come the election

Yep, pretty thin fare for 'hundreds of hours'.

That image was cropped from a larger photo of a group of kids in Pennsylvania whose Halloween costume was the Trump assassination attempt, if I lived there and they showed up at my door trick-or-treating I'd be tempted to give the one with the gun a lot of candy and ignore the others

Their parents must be really lovely caring people...FFS talk about indoctrinating your kids into Political extremism

Will this election have the biggest disparity between female and male voters? We're at a point where Trump seems to be deliberately alienating women and going for a misogynist vote. Realise he's not exactly one for staying on message in his speeches, but the 'protect women whether they like it or not' comment is just bonkers. It probably shores up his support amongst conservatives, patriarchs and loons - people who were voting for him anyway - but manages to offend all women. It also generates some perfect responses:

'Were you protecting women when you...'.

Hopefully more charges coming his way. These fucking sycophants twisting everything he says to defend the bastard are sick. He should be behind bars not running for office. He's free on bail, so every violation should have landed him in prison. Only a few more days and hopefully they can drag his sorry arse there when he's sentenced for some of his crimes.
