It's dangerous though, I keep buying things and say "oh it was only £10 or £5" but all those 10s and 5s add up to 100s

there's a yellow sticker sale at tkmaxx at the moment - picked up some nice won hundred jeans for a tenner yesterday, and will be checking in daily over the weekend as the prices go down - last year's end of summer yellow sticker sale i got some incredible bargains...

oh god that's tempting but not sure i dare venture to tkmaxx i'm finding the sales pretty dangerous atm. i'm working a bit ahead and getting a few autumny bits while there's not so much competition on ebay. a pair of wide tweed trousers and a couple of blouses, plus this dress, although i've no idea whether it's likely to fit i couldn't not get it for £16.50

(sorry enormopic)

Oooh, I've just had a really nasty reply from the ebayer that sold me the dress! She suggests I should visit a doctor and how she's never worn scent in her life!

I went there on Tuesday and got a really nice green shirt for £4, and a pair of jeans for butchers for £9.

Here's my reply to the rude dress-seller.....
You emphasised how it had been worn once and how
you had no pets, non-smoker etc so I was expecting
the dress to be clean.
It is a lovely dress BUT it smells very strongly
of cheap scent. I have taken a photograph of the
stains (which were uppermost as I opened the
package). I then recoiled from the overpowering
cloying smell of scent. Perhaps you wear scented
deodorant or something because it does smell very
strongly. It was actually unpleasant trying the
dress on.

I have NEVER left negative feed back before in all
the time I have ebayed. I can take the dress to
the dry-cleaners, I just feel you need to examine
goods a little more carefully.
I am in no way expecting a refund, or want to
return the dress, I was just taken aback when I
opened it because the impression you gave of
yourself as a seller was of someone almost
obssessive cleanliness which struck me as deluded.

What a cow!
Maybe she should go to the doctor to see about her offensive personality....... and over-powering odour!

I got a bargain even with the cost of dry-cleaning so I won't be going down that route because the time spent arguing with this offensive woman is just not worth it. One very important lesson I've learned is that if someone goes on and on about how clean they are it may be a case of 'the lady doth protest too much' and they're likely to be a defensive slattern!

Pip was a little more polite about the smell of the dress. She said something along the lines of 'Eau de Charity Shop'. That was after it had been airing for 24 hours.

Just been on holiday so: pale denim floppy short skirt - Oasis, vests - Primark, black sundress - Peacock, and lightweight parka which I love from Primark, before I went.

And on way home, from Naf Naf a really lovely dark green loosish, skimming vest with gold trim, which has become, already, one of those things you can't remember what you wore before you bought it. Unfortunately, today I have dripped sun tan lotion down it and my kitten has pulled at it. BOO.

2 bras from la senza
a necklace with a tiny pink poodle and a statue of the effiel tower on it, and a "love" necklace with pearls, from primark

enormodress just came, it's a bit on the loose side but livable with. i'm just not quite sure where it fits - it's a couple of inches above the knee so a bit short to be work wear (i might be starting a new job in the autumn) but a bit plain for everyday wear and not clingy enough to be a wiggly going out dress.

just a bit meh really, although i guess the idea is as a background for various accessories, but i'm rubbish at accessories. hmm. dunno.

eta: can i get some opinions?

^^^ looks like a good autumn/winter dress with tights, boots and tons of bangles and a coloured scarf?

I bought a fab striped dress from Mango @ ASOS which is gaining me lots of compliments but overall I need to be saving not spending so todays was a essential Benefit You Rebel Lite and a straw beach bag!

i love the idea of an essential straw beach bag :D i need to be saving not spending too, which is why i'm thinking of sending the dress back. hmm, thick tights would make me happier about the length. can you wear navy with black? it really does need accessories doesn't it, i'm just hopeless with them (also i have none so would entail more spending) maybe this is my chance to practice, but i prolly couldn't be arsed so it wouldn't get worn. argh still not decided...

I think the length is absolutely fine for work, with or without tights. It's only just above the knee - it looks pretty demure really. I like it.

Black and navy is supposed to be a bit of a no-no but I've never heeded that advice - I think black and navy look really good together.
