I also ordered this and this for comparison but they weren't going to be available for a few weeks so I cancelled them.

Too late. Here I am in it but you can't see the lovely colours, only the granny style

I'll post the coat tomorrow. It's in the spare room and I don't want to wake the dog.
I love it too, it really suits you and it's not grannyish!

Been searching for ages for these and finally got a pair on ebay brand new from a lady who bought and found them too tight. Never worn....absolutely mint and fantastic value.

I think I may have developed an addiction to Docs
But in my defense nothing else is as comfy as a pair of docs and when you're on your feet all day it's nice to not end up with sore feet. plus if my day is going shit I can look at my feet and smile :)

Loads of stuff from the Eastman/Buzz Rickson pop up shop in the east end. Chambray shirt, two tees, brown mock twist shirt, more jeans and a lovely new pea coat. I'd post pics but it's easier to climb the stairs to the top of the Shard. Instagram this place ain't.

an administrative purchace, though one suited to the weather...

berghaus-yeti-attack-2-gaiters-500x500.jpg

Yeti Gaiters, i have some that are in good working order and they've lasted me about 10 years - the pair before that lasted abour 10 years as well - but the rumour is that Berghaus have stopped making them because, well, fuck alone knows, so i've bought some as spares. and then i bought another, spare spare pair because i'm a bit anal like that.

i hope i'm going to enjoy wading through rivers and standing in bogs when i'm 80...

Bought a grey/blue houndstooth 2-piece today for Greebo's funeral. My only other suit that fits my reduced circumference is a very dark grey, and way too sombre for my taste, at least to wear for that occasion, given that Greebo said "no black", and the suit was definitely on the "near black" scale of grey.

rather sad about this one...

i have purchaced a new Buffalo Special 6, as i've had to accept that the one i bought aged 18 with possibly my first Army pay packet (i bought petrol for my 50cc bike, the Buffalo, an already 10 year old Berghaus Cyclops Crusader and a set of Yeti gaiters..), and which is now some 24 years old, has had it - and infact had had it many years ago.

the pile was threadbare, it was more repair than original, the velcro had all been replaced, and in truth your hero was finding it a little more restrictive than when he was Gunner Kebabking 2492****. it was however wonderful, it was warm, quick drying, and above all endlessly comfortable and comforting. i think i've taken it to every exercise i've ever been on in the UK, Denmark, Norway, Germany, France, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Sweden, the US, Canada, the Falklands and South Georgia, as well as umpteen climbing trips to the Alps, Scotland, Snowdonia and the Lakes, and its seen me through Bosnian and Kosovan winters, and the surprisingly cold Iraq and Afghanistan...

new things are usually a cause for celebration, but not this one - and it will shock no one if i say that the new one is a slightly more relaxed fit than the old one.
