Critiquing Oasis

He still dresses like a bit of a bum. And takes public transport. I hope that passes the Urban75 class test.
Oh yes thanks for reminding us of Pretty Green. Not even Liam's street cred could make that a success, not at those prices.

Both the Gallaghers have been regs at Maine Rad/the Etihad for decades through thick and thin.. I don't think you can accuse them of wandering from their roots.

Anyway. Peggy is the true fucking star of the documentary. Totally nonplussed by her sons' fame and just wishing they weren't such dicks.

If you don’t call moving to leafy middle class north London as soon as possible ‘wandering from their roots’ then what do you call it?

Popping up occasionally to watch your petro state owned team isn’t the same as being embedded in your community.

Anyway, given that both brothers have now lived in north London longer than Manchester maybe they should start supporting Chelsea or Arsenal?

I met him once on carnaby street in the early 00s. I had a book on me at the time. He was with a woman going in and out of shops totally undisturbed no security etc. he looked very much like Liam though, swaggering about, scowling, monkey walk. alright Liam can you sign this? Yes mate. Signed it. Walked off. Pretty uninteresting story really.
Was it a book by him, or do you now just have a copy of Wuthering Heights or something signed by Liam Gallagher?
Who was the banned returner on here who called them the blaggers who pulled off the ultimate blag?
Bit fucking harsh on the Blaggers. (((Blaggers)))

This is unfair; if you read that article I posted one of them is spending seventeen grand a month renting a place in the Cotswolds.

Imagine how hard it'd be to live in the poor area you were brought up in, and everyone who you ever spoke to suddenly wants to be your best mate because you have money. Then all those new best mates thinking you owe them something because they once sold you an ounce of weed. I reckon there would be a lot of falling out happening.
Fuck that. I couldn't put up with that nonsense. I'd be gone faster than a bag of salt and vinegar squares.

:weed:

I like a few things by them, but "She's Electric" is one of the worst songs of all time. Up there with "Achy Breaky Heart."
The Ryan Adams cover isn't bad.

Ryan has done a cover of the full album... I didnt know such a thing existed until yesterday.. given it a listen and it's pretty good... some tracks work very well.. other's the vocals may take some getting used to .

Nothing. But leaving the place you were born in at the first opportunity but then endlessly banging on about the place and acting the professional manc is a bit naff isn’t it.

Beats endlessly banging on about the place and having no connection to it surely must be far worse?

Growing up "in" a place is a long time. At least a 16 to 18 year stretcb. You get to know your place very well in that time.

Who does that then?

Just trying to make the point that people get attached to where they grew up...but moving away from there doesn't mean you stop caring or knowing the place.
I'm saying the Gallaghers talk about where they grew up..and there's nothing wrong with that. They probably still have ties to the place.

Eta it was in response to smokeandstream who is giving out about the Gallaghers going on about where they grew up.

The dates:

4, 5 July - Cardiff, Principality Stadium

11, 12, 16, 19, 20 July - Manchester, Heaton Park

25, 26, 30 July and 2, 3 August - London, Wembley Stadium

8, 9, 12 August - Edinburgh, Murrayfield Stadium

16, 17 August - Dublin, Croke Park

5 nights each for Wembley and Heaton Park - that's some payday! The band are hardly known for pyrotechnics and stage dressing, so they won't be splashing out on that beforehand.

That must be a million+ people across all the UK dates.

Still no ticket price released.

Still no band line up confirmed.

They should get Bonehead at least.
