Crafty Thread - what are you working on at the moment?

about to start my 4'th cross stitch of a magic tree that I made with some outkast lyrics, working off a hand drawn chart on graph paper is fucking bollocks, I aint got an unpicker and I underestimated how good I am at embroidery, and I just noticed a major fuck up when I thought I was doing proper good.
How did you do that chart/pattern? I have a pretty basic thing I want to x-stitch but I know I am going to fuck up centering it :(

It's five words and I'd like them like so;

These, Are,
Five Words Innit

So I have to count and get the middle stitch then line them up, right? And there's no tricks? I just have to count those teeny things and not lose count and fuck it up? :facepalm:

I know very little about cross stitch, but I think the 'i' s might mess up your centering. There's free software out there which could help.

The annual birthday cake chore is upon me again - this year, the theme is 'woodland' (last year it was my little fucking pony so some improvement). Accordingly, I have spent tedious hours manipulating Fimo into tiny hedgehogs, deer, fox, owls etc. The head fell off the deer and, naturally, the eyes (no eye deer) so superglue to the rescue. Lots of toadstools were much easier. Tomorrow is cake day so off to buy Wilton 233 icing tip for the grassy buttercream. Thank fuck for ready-made fondant and the unbeatable chiffon recipe. Promise pics if not too awful. Oh yeah, a cake-y model of the gypsy caravan too, as the (almost) finished child-size version is being trailered off to Norfolk in time for the party. Pics, I swear...the relief (and gloating) will be immense.

Already had a disaster with cake - one of those which need 8 egg whites and 5 egg yolks...but after counting out 5, forgot about other three whites. Resulting 'cake' edible but only suitable for carving up for toppings. Second attempt much better and just starting 3rd cake (need 2 squares to make a long oblong. This competitive parenting lark means inviting the whole class...plus the after school club plus her friends from out of school. I recall last year, son-in-law forgetting to bring the party bags (and that's another wtf!) and ended up taking 40 of them into school the following Monday. But anyway, I have no idea how many people will be expecting cake so have to assume quite a lot.

Cakes baked and mostly iced. Will finish icing on caravan and the 'grass' tomorrow - am bloody knackered, staggering about with a back support like a decrepit ancient.

Still a bit vague on this uploading lark - sorry for repeats (again). The (No Eye Deer) with superglued eyes! Am giving all remaining Fimo to granddaughter - hope to never have to use it again. Also bought clay and plaster of paris to do handprints...something I did every year when mine were tiny. I could probably pave a path with them all.

buttons for my bezza :)

That's beautiful, is it an attic24 pattern? ETA I see you say that in your post! Sorry! I'm a moron today :D

My eye is on another one of hers but I have two more projects" the go and I want one of them finished before I start anything else tbh :oops:

I did the ripple a couple of years ago, and that was easy enough to do without looking, but the colour changes made it interesting enough to keep me going.

Has anyone got a link/instructions for making a simple pocket like this...
