Crafty Thread - what are you working on at the moment?

I got there eventually Boudicca. Although I won't show you the underside :hmm: :D.
Stripping and sanding it has left a patchy red tinge, don't know whether to attack it with more varnish remover (nitro mors has gone shite since health and safety) then steel wool and white spirit, or just chuck some cedar oil on it. Rustic like (or lazy if you prefer) :)

All opinions, criticism welcomed.
It's lovely. I like stripping stuff back to wood like you've done there. Rustic's a much better finish for me. I love the print too. Top stool :thumbs:

Shit name isn't it. They do the job though, lovely sound, good connectors and pretty decent range on the bluetooth connection. You can buy all the gubbins separately but by the time you've got the lot it's just as cheap to buy one of these all sealed up.

They do valve amps too. Might buy one next yr. :)

Then I'll just have to build one from a schematic!
This probably belongs in the audiophile thread but seeing as it was brought up here...
I've just read that people were replacing and comparing different valves in those nobsound amps, and deciding which valves performed best. There was, apparently, a lengthy discussion on the topic, which, considering the valves are basically just acting as ornamental fuses, makes it quite hilarious! :D

I'm sure that if you put some NOS Mullard EC88s in, it'd sound better than some cheap Chinese thermionic fuses! ;)

I used to buy NOS Mullard tubes for my tube mic. They were great, for about a month.
But, apparently, a piece of wire will perform equally as good, in those Nobsound valve amps.

I used to buy Tesla valves for my guitar amp, when I could find them (this is back in the 80s). Liked the way they degraded.

Lost my mate this week who taught me to fly fish. He was a much loved colleague by all who worked with him at work. It's been so glum all week in the office I thought I'd take a day out and do something that reminded me of him today.

It was too windy to fish so I made a fly in his honour.

I give you the 'Pugwash' Raggle Taggle Hopper.

She has just come rushing up to me and requested a 'Red Arrows' costume.

Does she still want one and how old is she?? I have a Red Arrows boiler suit (?) somewhere, aged roughly 4-5 I think. If you want it I am happy to post it to you :)

We have one of those too! She is taller than J though.... I was going to offer ours but thought it would cut her in half

Ooh, maybe! She has just turned 5, Manter, but I don't think she is particularly tall. I will ask!

(I am slightly puzzled as to why Red Arrow costumes are a thing)

Its wrapping paper and it took about 3 hours, the paint dried much lighter than i wanted its supposed to be cloudless blue but looks more like a cloud, there will be pink details once i repaint. :)

Finally (started last year) my dragonwing scarf is finished. Made it up as I went along so it is a bit random...but short rows and plentiful colourwork is very forgiving in yarn. Starting Xmas knitting - Shetland colourwork gloves and socks this year so have ordered a large stash of Jamieson's Shetland yarn...in somew glorious colours. Plus a new infant in the fam (so knitting a jacket in definitely not babyish shades).

As my scarf looks much better on than stretched out on a piece of cardboard, I attempted my first-ever selfie...in my dusty (forgiving) bedroom mirror. However, it was so filthy, you could see the 'smiley face' grand-daughter had made in the dust. Not once, but twice, with a gap of many months between each dusty iteration. Not even the chance of boastful trumpet blowing could override the shameful evidence of sloth...but if I get a blurty confessional moment, I might cave in.

Try an outdoor shot :D

I've been in engineering and fabrication most of my life. I started this as a hobby about 6 months ago after watching 'Forged in Fire', and I thought I'd have a bash at making a knife

My youngest is a metalworker/fabricator (I think he thinks he can do anything in metal)...and we also watched this series...and started to make our own tools. Will post a pic of my first knife when I get it from the woods. May PM for forge chat if you don't mind.

I look forward to it.
