Have to say..England were just about as dirty as the Colombians. Kane fouled that guy first and there was just as much tugging pretty much. The game only improved when they both gave that a rest.

Columbia's spoiling game, whilst it put england off, never looked like it would get them a goal. When they actually decided to attack - in the last ten - minutes - they looked pretty decent.If they have dont that from the start they could well have won.
England seemed shell shocked for most of extra time. Again columbia should have gone at them whilst their tails were up.

Why young starts instead of rose is a mystery.
Stirling did his usual "im going to dribble through this tightly packed defence and score a wonder goal rather than pass it ... oh ive lost the ball".
Sweden - its going to be another tight game. England are at their best playing fast attacking football - but they don't have a creative magician who can create chances when the opposition are shutting up shop.

England going forward often looked like startled rabbits in the headlights, especially come from the back line.
Up the top the shape went weird - Im no expert, but somethings not right up there. Kane often pulled back leaving Stirling of all people to piss about. IMO England gave the worst performance of all the last 16.

Surely this bunch of players can do better than this - but its going to need a rejiggle and kick up the arse to happen though. Rashford, Loftus-Cheek and Rose to start perhaps.

Despite being called all sorts of really fucking unpleasant names in this thread, the only 'modding' I did was for a clear breach of the rules concerning 'mutual ignore.'

The poster knew exactly what he was doing and would have excepted the warnings that led to the ban in return. Or do you think we should just apply the rules in the way that suits you and a handful of others, leaving you all free to criticise?

But on the face of it, he said 'we looked at all their previous pens and then I dived the way they normally shoot'. Undoubtedly it's more nuanced, looking at their 'tells' and all that, but at least leave a bit of mystery in place.
