Wonder if they are both under rated and over rated? Didn't do well in the Fed Cup or the various friendlies, maybe a case of missing the heat of battle you'd get in proper qualifications. But they still are quite limited as seen in the Uruguay game and indeed tonight - all determination, psychological strength and national pride. A big version of Iceland 2016.

yup -and the playing squad is all pretty much Russia based as well - not getting the exposure of playing outside russia except for the european cup forays keeps them under the radar for most punters
