Charlie Hebdo massacre and the West's response

No.

I see these sentiments elsewhere everytime they post an article or cartoon that is "controversial". All completely anecdotal of course but this time it seems slightly different though as they are very nasty people rather than nasty racists. There seems to be a undercurrent of "it is not even Muslims this time. Surely now they've said nasty things about victims of an Earthquake in a European country you can see why the killers had a point."
I think you need to put your hand up when employing that level of irony on here. ;)

So you are not expressing your own views then? That wasn't clear from your post so thanks for clarifying.

I personally haven't read any articles or comments which imply they deserved to be killed, got any links to specific things?

That article up there didn't imply that they needed to be killed, but it did kind of imply that since they've made such an awful joke about the Italy earthquake people might have less sympathy with them over what happened last year..

It is only people on facebook and the like I have seen it from. People saying things like if mocking Muslims wasn't "enough" now this and isn't murder awful but these guys are horrible etc. I can post a few up if you really want but not able to now and would have to anonymise em.

Also seen quite a lot of people asking why mocking Islam is ok but not mocking the victims of an earthquake. If I was offended by both I'd like to think I could understand the difference.

Plenty examples of that on this thread as well.

Do you talk like this down the NAAFI? Genuine question.

Islamists those that belive islam is more important than anything else resort to violence and murder any chance they get.
The writers at Charlie Hebro didn't kill anyone.

If you think there's any defence for murdering cartoonists your the enemy.

There's been a knife attack near Charlie Hebdo's former offices in Paris, two injured.

A counter-terrorism investigation has been launched in France after two people were seriously injured in a knife attack near the former offices of satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo in Paris.

Two arrests have been made and the victims’ lives were not in danger, authorities said.

A man wearing bloodstained clothing and carrying a large knife or machete was detained near the Place de la Bastille in eastern Paris shortly after the attack, police said. The suspected knifeman was reported to be known to police for “common law offences” and the “illegal carrying of a weapon”.

I guess it's connected with the fact they republished those Prophet Mohammed cartoons a few weeks ago.

ETA - also...

Charlie Hebdo magazine's head of HR has left her home because of "precise and detailed threats" to her security guards, French media report.
Marika Bret said her guards, who have protected her for almost five years, received the threats on 14 September.
She blamed "an unreal level of hatred around Charlie Hebdo".

WTF were they doing republishing the fucking cartoons in the week the trial over the 2015 terrorist attacks opens?
