Cardiff City 2014-2015

:hmm:
non story?

Former Cardiff City owner Sam Hammam has opened up for the first time about mounting talk that he is planning to head up a consortium to buy the Bluebirds from Vincent Tan.

The Lebanese businessman has attended around 20 Cardiff matches this season, regularly making the 5,000-miles from trip from his home in Beirut to London and back.

His visits come as speculations grows in the Welsh capital about Hammam being at the forefront of a consortium looking to buy out Tan and instantly return Cardiff back to blue.

Hammam insisted the claims about his involvement were false, but he did predict that 2015 will be an “eventful” year for the club.

ok, didn't see him mentioned in article

Nope but he is forever starting such rumors.

1. So that he can revive his "I've got a direct line to Sam so I'm important" ego trip. Get asked his opinion by the press etc. Give it on his forums etc.
2. In the desperate hope that the fans will take up the cry of bring back Sam, that will lead to Sam returning and so Annis will be back in the inner circle of King Sam's court like the good old days.

Its quite pathetic really.

Meeting called. Bluebirds Unite not invited.

Cardiff City Football Club recognises that one of the key assets the Club has is its fan base. In recognition of their importance, Vincent Tan has asked Cardiff City Chairman Mehmet Dalman and CEO Ken Choo to invite a cross-section of supporters and stakeholders for a consultative meeting, including but not exclusive to the Cardiff City Supporters Club and Supporters Trust.

As such a meeting has been scheduled on Thursday 8 January 2015, with invitations being compiled and sent today, Monday 5 January.

The purpose of the consultation meeting is to give supporters an opportunity to openly share their views on a number of topics in relation the Club.

We care about our fans and their views are important to us.

Who said they aren't invited?

Sian Branson has been invited!
They weren't invited at first and posted on facebook to say so - but now they have. All seems pretty much in line with the ongoing almighty fuck up and total embarrassment that is Cardiff City under Tan.

There's some doubters about the invite to talks:

Call me cynical but isn't it amazing how he wants a fans meeting just as we're announcing more protests and following a boycott of the cup game. I expect him to say something along the lines of: If you don't protest anymore I'll think about reversing the rebrand and the club crest. Then the end of the season comes and he says unlucky losers, never believe me I've always lied to you like I did about the initial rebrand and turning the loans and debt into equity!

Press conference at 2pm. So one empty game and things start to change. If only the glory hunting Cardiff fans had done this at the start instead of pathetically acquiescing to Tan's whims.

Statement from Cardiff City chairman Vincent Tan
"The Christmas and New year period has given me time to reflect on events of the last year. Spending time with my family has had a profound effect upon me, my mother... spoke to me on the importance of togetherness, unity and happiness. Cardiff City Football Club is important to me and I wish to see it united and happy."
lol

Happy we are back in blue. Saturday will be my first home game this season (and I only went the year before because I'd already paid for the season ticket).

This is only the first step on the road to recovery I think. It will take a while, but this is great first step. Hope the atmosphere is good. I think it wil be. :)

Because they paid good money to have the replica strip that their team will be playing in this season.

I kind of see your point in that most strip changes are guaranteed for at least a season, but I can't see the club giving back that sort of revenue (note, not a Cardiff Fan, just observing).

I think they've got a very good case for a refund/exchange. What use is a shirt that has no relation to the team that you're supposed to be supporting?
