Do the organisers of these ridiculous things have insurance in case the bonfire torches houses in the vicinity? Some of them look far too close to houses in some pictures.

According to this BBC report, Belfast City Council rejected proposals to require permits, insurance, risk assessment, and a ban on burning toxic materials

 
While looking (and failing) to see if there are rules about needing insurance for bonfires in E & W, I found out that there is (or was - might have been repealed) an Act to commemorate 5th November.

The burning hate piles exploe gable end houses every year.

The council still paying to help out keeping the Kulture alive?
