Burger Thread. Yes!

One does not want a wet, and therefore structurally unsound burger. There is an art to containment of condiments within the bun, and either unprepared buns, too much sauce, or simple sloppiness (in both senses of the term) leaves one with the predicament of involvement of knives, and indeed, forks. This is not acceptable.

Fried chicken. The horror.

Actually it was rather good. I was sceptical of anything that isn't KFC, but they delivered and it turned out to be rather good and the portions very generous. :)

We're going to Café Rouge later because we've got some vouchers, I see they do a burger

7oz Aberdeen Angus beef burger topped with Normandy Camembert ‘Gillot AOP’ and crispy smoked ham. Served with frites
:hmm:

I can sort of see the theory of sweet + meat (sausage/bacon with maple syrup etc).. not sure about the doughnut though :hmm:

We had a rare family trip to the city yesterday and ate burgers from here - http://www.grilld.com.au/menu/western-australia/
I had the "Hot Mama" which comes with roasted peppers and harissa. Roasted peppers are great on a burger. I also had sweet potato chips. The wife and kids had crispy bacon and cheese. All the burgers were fantastic plus they had a reasonable range of local craft beers. I had a couple of bottles of a local Kolsch. ★★★★★ will eat again

Homemade burger today, using butchers beef patties, fried onions, tomato, lettuce, Easy single, and fried onions on a lightly toasted seeded bun. Condiments (not mixed together) were butter, mustard, ketchup and mayo. Was so hungover i forgot the pickle! It was a lovely burger - not the greatest effort i've ever made, but hit the spot, will make more tomorrow and put in more effort :)

I'm going to have a burger tonight too. Got some in the freezer but will probably buy some fresh ones. Cheese and mustard with it I think.

Yesterday I went to McDonald's HQ and created "The Burger Lad" in the McDonald's kitchen there.

I was one of twelve My Burger finalists and I got to meet and chat to the Managing Director for McD's UK.

A truly amazing day! If I am lucky, my burger will be chosen with four other finalists and will be on-sale in the UK in October and November for one week.

Burger lad yesterday

Instead of chocolate the river is made of slightly congealed lard.

Excellent work mate. I saw the competition on the website and there were a lot of great ideas on there (though with Mc'D's crap 200-different cow in each patty I'm not sure how good the final result will turn out).

What's your burger then? Or is it a closely guarded secret? :hmm: :)
