Burger Thread. Yes!

Fantastically shit picture, fantastically tasty burgers. Demolished in minutes. I'd have taken more pics/better ones but...I was hungry :D.

Inspired by this thread, a goodly handful of fresh minced beef has been purchased from a well known butchers in Wells

Now, this next bit will, no doubt, raise a few hackles, but a fresh kidney was also purchased - (steak and kidney being a favourite) - can you see where this is going?

I also got a couple of freshly baked buns - however, I've also got a packet of Tesco Finest brioche burger buns, as mentioned earlier in the thread

And a side salad, plus red pepper and the OLD FAVOURITE sweet corn

There's a new bottle of Knob du Nob Tomato sauce waiting to be opened

And NO CHEESE anywhere to be seen - lovely!!! ;)

Sounds like a winner to me. Offal in burgers is fine with me, I bet kidneys add a really nice depth to them (I'd even miss out a rasher of bacon!). The Tesco brioche rolls are nicer than the M&S ones but the M&S ones are half the calories (and size) and price. I'd roast the red peppers and slide them onto the burger, delicious!

4800 calories...

EVERYTHING on it...

Huge amounts of fat and cholesterol...

It's a coronary on a plate...

Pretty much what they said - a little and often rather than an endurance test
I'd go for the dozen in one go, endurance style, as long as they were hot when I went to eat them. If they were all cooked at once and just sat there whilst I struggled that would put me off.

I'd go for one after another - keep 'em comin' an' keep 'em comin' hot - one big FO plate with 12 burgers on it would destroy me psychologically - likewise one big enormous burger - Nah! not going to happen

Much as I enjoy a decent sized burger or two, that much grub in a single sitting does not appeal. (that and I'd probably have instant gout flair up)

I'd not want it all the time, but did one a while back and it was lush.
I bought some really nice wholemeal buns from Tesco (they seem to do nice bread) that I've been eating with cheese and pickle, they might be alright with a slab of minced cow between 'em! I'll report back with my delicious findings. Assuming I don't, as usual, get so excited I eat them all and forget to take pics etc. I feel like I have some sort of problem

No. We're not Americans. Quality not quantity.

Good quality steak mince, seasoned only with salt and pepper. Make 2 large but thin 1/4lb burgers, stick a big lump of brie on one, t'other on top, pinch together the edges.

Cook on a barbecue with a lid with plenty of woodchips to give it a smoky taste - my tip would be M&S' whisky barrel chips. Serve on a soft, floury white roll with a few fried mushrooms (also good on the bbq), crispy onions and a bit of rocket.

Beware of molten brie...

Well, mince beef and pig kidney beef burgers in a Tesco brioche bun are . . . . not too bad actually

there are some pictures and depending on the quality of the pictures they may be posted some time soon

Get 'em posted! The thread needs more burger porn pictures

The cheese was marbled throughout the "patty" itself. Buns (toasted of course),mustard, ketchup, beet root, gherkin, fried onion, sweet bacon, piquant peppers, jalapeños, BBQ sauce. Fucking amazing. I'm depressed that one was lopsided but it went down just as well. Same tonight minus the bacon :)

must confess, i suspected that the incumbent cheese was marbled through!! and delighted for it. I think the word i have for this work is 'proud.' just beautiful
