While I have never been to Russia or Ukraine, and my knowledge that this is bollocks is based on Ukrainians and Russians I've known in Britain, I always find it absolutely astonishing when people go on holiday somewhere, in this case not even to the countries of the people who are being insulted by this, and then extrapolate that experience to every single person of a given nationality just living their ordinary lives.

Well it's my experience. I know extrapolating one experience into an analysis of a nation is bollocks, but fuck russians. Their kids buy laser pens and point them at everyone and if you say anything? fuck me they get aggressive. I recognise that wrapping people up is not good, but i have had two holidays that were fucked - one by Russians, one by Americans. You fucking try it.

That's typical behaviour of the English and Irish....but it's not something you'll see in Europe including Scandinavia. If I bump into someone I apologise...as do most Irish people. It's just a matter of culture.
In Sweden and Finland if someone bumps into you they don't say anything....and they're surprised if you apologise. That's pretty much standard all over Europe. It's cultural.
