BrewDog: yet another hip company using 'rebel' language to sell its stuff

What's most amazing is that up to 70% of Brewdog's success is - indisputably - thanks to the existence of this thread.

But let's not forget that the same is true of any of the negative aspects of their business.

They have closed a few places in recent months, citing costs but their established pubs overall seem to be holding-up pretty well.

I embarrassed my boss by pissing in the sink in the last one we were in. Is it my fault that their sinks and urinals look very similar after a couple, esp when my specs were half steamed-up..?

Liked for the lack of embarrassment on your own part 😁

Brewdog, which we know is a morally bankrupt company of dubious morals, is now trying to take on, erm, checks notes, Guinness.

That has the potential to be their only beer that I do like.

Don't see that they're taking on Guinness, though (other than in the marketing campaign). They're producing a draught stout; like loads of other breweries.

Surprised it took them so long.

Some on here may have emboldened them

They had a stout on last time I was in a Brewdog pub, some kind of ‘milk stout’ as I recall. It was fucking rank, give me a reliable Guinness every time

There was a comment on the twitter thread disputing it's newness. Brewdog in elasticating the truth shocker.

I see that James Watt has now had a diagnosis of Aspergers and ADHD confirmed.

The Ellon beer giant's co-founder and CEO was said he had been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) after seeking out help when he was described as 'semi-autistic' by a journalist.

"I have always struggled with anything emotional and I am terrible with social cues. I have always needed significant amounts of time by myself to be able to function well as a human.

"I would often be more terrified in simple social settings than I would be facing huge storms in my days on the high seas of the north Atlantic. I have always accepted these character imperfections and viewed them as a kind of trade off with other characteristics - my analytical ability, my work ethic and my ability to focus on tasks like a demented mother f****r.

"The diagnosis gives the me opportunity to continue working with an amazing specialist on fully understanding the implications of my own neurodiversity and specifically on working hard on the associated blind spots (such as reading social cues or expressing empathy) whilst sharpening the gifts that also come with autism and ADHD such as focus, creativity and analysis.

In the meantime, he is also claiming that, according to an anonymous employee survey,

Overall, we’re scoring significantly better than the hospitality industry across the board – and the stat I’m particularly proud of is that our Crew are roughly half as likely to leave us as other businesses in the our sector.

What with there being so much negativity on this thread maybe it is nice to share a few comments from readers -

My student son works for you in Lothian Road part time. Best job in the world for him as he loves beer & Brewdog. He often shares with me his wages, tips and profit share details. Best job in the world for a beer loving student. Say hi to Jamie next time you’re there. I’m taking a couple months off my own day job for from next week. Might apply to BrewDog Inverurie to pull some pints for a change of work scene😁😂🍻🐶🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

keep pushing for that galvanized, engaged, fulfilled and happy team. Always a challenge, but one where you seem to be on the righ path! Keep up the great work!

Maybe what with this good news about things having been turned around at Brewdog, we can start to make this thread a bit more upbeat now and we can all stop trying to put people down all the time. I think we have all had enough of the acrimony so let's all pull together and go towards a better future along with all the Brewdog Crew.

“Newness”? It’s brand new. They’ve made several stouts in cans and bottles but this is their first draught.

“Elasticating the truth shocker” 🤣

With his reputation as a moral-free vacuum, I'm afraid that there are severe doubts about a maligned and criticised figure suddenly announcing that they have ADHD. MAYBE it's true. MAYBE. I hope that a man who leads one of the worst companies in the country isn't trying to lie his way out of criticism, something his company is known to do.

Honestly, Brewdog make me legitimately angry. I hate them so much, and PR stunts about "new" brands doesn't help.

I didn't think anyone was going to risk going down the road of accusing him of having "fake disorders". Let's see how many of the thread's regular contributors are happy to let this go unremarked upon.

Indeed, will be interesting. Similar to how many people accuse the ex employees about lying about the abuse they received, that would be a proper cunt's trick

Errrm so saying this bloke has a "fake disorder" (which despite teuchter's quote marks I can't actually see was a real quote) is wrong, but it's ok to say that his ex employees (quite a few of them I understand) have made up their complaints?
