Brazil v Germany (Semi Final) Tuesday 8th July 2014

9k RTs thus far.

"We killed all those slum-children for this?"

They did a lot of unpleasant things but they weren't actually murdering children to facilitate the hosting of the World Cup. Although, BOPE do that in their day to day activities, regardless of tournaments.

Still, loads of retweets so LEDGE.

I dunno. Mor knowledgeable people than me have been saying Brazilian football is generally in a bit of a state.

I'm pretty sure they'll sort it out before England does though.
it's in a state, but it's all relative.
The league structure needs some sanity to be added and I guess they've lost a bit of their identity as a national team, but compared to most countries they're fine - the problem is of course when they compare themselves against the sides of world cups past.

FUCKING HELL!!!!!! What a game! :D I was in fits of laughter after the 3rd goal. This will never be forgotten. Way to go Germany. Brazil, I loves you! Please don't riot. Remember a left wing government is much better than what was there before and a lot of what you hear is right wing propaganda. It will take time to put things right.

Best match i've ever seen !!! was routing for Deutschland and delighted they won.

i was saying that they always play like they are WINNING, even when they are losing, not that they needed to do that tonight !!! Brazils side this year were very poor.

That wasn't me btw, I'm not even on it, it was just some random bloke being edgy. It's peculiar how stuff like this goes viral.

what does that mean?

The worst moment in Brazil's collective memory is when they lost the World Cup final at home to Uruguay at the Maracanã. This beame known as the "Maracanaço" and is constantly talked about in their football history.

This game took place at the Mineirão and now gets its own special disaster event name for this, even worse, defeat.

I'm saving this on DVR, along the Portugal massacre. Those 20 minutes between the 1st and 5th must be some sort of record.

GOAAAAAAL!!!!

AND ANOTHER!

Piers Moron twitter : David Luiz will drive Brazil to victory tonight. He's been my star of this World Cup. Such passion/commitment/determination. #BRAvGER: :D
He only got the name of the winning team wrong. David Luiz was a crucial player for Germany today.

One other thing to add to last nights game was the fantastic way the Germans conducted themselves, they not only blew everyone away with brilliant controlling technical football, but showed fantastic sportsmanship and compassion towards the humiliated Brazilians at the end of the game ( This despite Luis flinging his elbows all over the place). And goal celebrations understated. Class.

They now have to go on and win the trophy in same style to truly crown this as the best World Cup ever. I'd split blood and declare a fatwa if Robbens dives his way to the trophy.

I believe Brazilian fans gave a standing ovation to Klose, as well as to one of the German goals. So there were some positives there.

Just watched this on PVR. Mother. Fucker. How is it possible for a team to fall apart like that? It's like they forgot how to play.

I can understand better now why more goals isn't necessarily a better thing. :D

On the bright side: my money's always been on Germany to take this thing. :)

Stage fright, plus not being that good in the first place, plus facing a side clued up enough to know how and where to attack them.
Didn't see many leaders out there trying to pull Brazil together. Holding Neymar's shirt up during the anthem (he's not dead ffs) told me they were more concerned with his absence and empty symbolism than the game itself.
