Brazil v Colombia (Quarter Final) Friday 4th July 2014

There's at least one other fan of the Colombia shirt on this thread. What about the Brazil one? I think it's almost a classic, except for the unecessary noodling on the collar, which ruins it a bit.

Thoughts kit nerds?

Am I right in thinking that if Brazil win the world cup this year they keep it? Isn't it win a trophy three times, you keep it and a new one is made?

Messi's going to acore a winning hat-trick in the final and the citizenry of Rio de Janeiro will burn the entire city to the ground.

They did that with the Jules Rimet but although it's a precedent, I don't think it's a rule. FIFA would do whatever the fuck they fancied or got bribed to do as usual.

Unless anyone knows otherwise.

Yeah that's what made me think of it. They certainly set a precedent with Jules Rimet and I think they should stick to it really but like you say it is FIFA.

The original FIFA World Cup Trophy cannot be won outright anymore, as the new regulations state that it shall remain FIFA's own possession. Instead, the FIFA World Cup winners are awarded a replica which they get to keep as a permanent reminder of their great triumph. These gold-plated replicas are referred to as the FIFA World Cup Winners' Trophies.

Christ that's a bit shit isn't it? Not as if FIFA can't pony up the cash to make a new one is it? Replica is one thing but I think a country should be able to win it outright, especially after winning it three times.

FIFA

It is shit but in their defence the Jules Rimet got nicked and melted down so that might be part of it.

Does anyone else find Hulk really annoying? I don't mean as a player, I just don't like his name, I remember when he used to play as FC Porto and the commentators would say his name and I hated it then - I still hate it.

I've just had an idea for a film script where the Jules Rimet trophy is actually in a humble favela dweller's house somewhere in Rio de Janeiro. He found it one day after it fell out of the robber's swag bag when they made their escape. Word gets around the city and the owner has to try and hold onto it before the authorities track him down and take it.

Anyone got 10 million quid to fund it?

I hated Dunga for this reason.

Will it be a wacky slapstick comedy starring Rob Schneider?

My mum was staying last week. She didn't believe me when I said there were players called Hulk and Fred :D

I assume Brazilians pronounce the latter Fredgy - in the same way they say LappyToppy (laptop) and Biggy Maccy (Big Mac). They add a little vowel sound onto the end of a lot of syllables.
