'Bleeding' vegan burger is an 'existential threat' to beef' whines NZ MP

Perhaps you failed to read my last post where I the preference for a burger that "doesn't involve death and cruelty and does less damage to the environment."

Oh, and not all vegan burgers have more saturated fat than the dead animals ones - most have slightly less calories - not that I've seen anyone suggesting that people should switch to a non-meat diet and eat burgers all day.
I don't think I said you should be denied an option, and, for the avoidance of doubt, I don't.

The high sat fat content comes from coconut oil, which isn't a problem IMO

Why do you even care if people choose to eat a meat substitute? All but the most blinkered dead flesh devourers understand that there has to be a global reduction in meat consumption so anything that helps that cause has to be a good thing, no? Even if you have some sort of strange issue with it.

I don't really think me answering any further is going to be productive, your attitude is ridiculous.

If there were 7 billion hungry sharks able to hunt on every square inch of land and sea on Earth, and devouring their way around the globe, it would make me very concerned indeed for the future of that species....

If those 7 billion hungry sharks were also at the same time utterly aware that their appetites were leading to a global environmental Armegeddon, I would get my harpoon ready and start the revolution.

See how the analogy breaks down?
Yes yes yes you I was going to say the same thing

Exactly what is 'ridiculous' about my last comment?
I didn't say comment, I said attitude. I have found it to be unduly antagonistic. I haven't attacked you nor your beliefs but it seems that you have inferred otherwise.

I've been on this site five minutes, I am not here to attack anyone. To characterise the fact that I eat meat in that context, saying I drool like homer simpson seems to imply that I relish the conditions by which some meat gets manufactured. Assuming that's correct, you'd be wrong. I have already said (iirc, but if not then here it is) I abhor factory farming.

There is nothing wrong with his attitude.
Try opening your mind and then go back and reread several of the previous posts.

Open my mind to what? Veganism? I'm afraid I have no desire to adopt that diet. But people that choose to do so should be respected. For example, people who throw around the slur "soy boy" are complete idiots IMO. They are helpful to no one but their own sad macho cause.

You've only been here for five minutes, yet in that time you've (inaccurately) criticised the high sat fat content of vegan burgers compared to meat, you've criticised the ingredients of vegan burgers, you've criticised how this particular vegan burger looks and you've criticised the whole notion of fake meat products. So yes, it does rather appear that you have some sort of bee in your bonnet about people eating and enjoying vegan products.

Ignoring the antagonistic hyperbole, so what? Am I obliged to think these burgers are good quality food? I made a few mild passing comments and you've taken great exception to them, as if they were personal attacks.

Nowhere did i criticise anything

dont mind him he's like this about everything - meat, cars, the council, gentrification, phones, it's a never ending source of entertainment.

I'd tap out if I were you.

Seeing as you're only good for tiresome personal attacks and posting disruptive drivel, you're banned from this thread.

I don't think that many people, omni, veggie or whatever eat burgers to supplement the nutritional profile of their diet.

I've been on here 17 years and I still find myself hoping for a different result when I brave the politics forum :D
(or post about my rough and ready approach to household management)

Something I learned a while back.
New Zealand has volcanic soils and the grass grows lush, but there's often a massive deficiency in cobalt, so no vitamin B12making bacteria - so cattle have to be injected with synthesised B12.

Are we going to change forum every time someone changes the subject? :D
What do you think of the pedestrianisation of Norwich city centre?

What has caused that deficiency? Is it just a natural quality of NZ land?

So long as they keep it off the general menu forum I don't mind where they discuss their Frankenstein food ;)

This particular stuff isn’t really ‘Frankensteiny’ to be fair - it’s just fairly normal veggie stuff finessed a bit with some beetroot or haem iron from a fairly clever process not involving animal sources of any kind.
