'Bleeding' vegan burger is an 'existential threat' to beef' whines NZ MP

More hypocrisy hunting, great stuff!!

Ah yes, how dare we have the audacity to point out that activist vegans selectively apply the logic underlying their morality.

Not sure how you pointing that out constitutes any kind of defence.

In recent days there have been two attacks on the "fake" burger.

1. Christian TV Host: Meatless Burgers Are Satanic Plot To Create ‘Race Of Soulless Creatures’

Wiles continued:

God is an environmentalist. He takes this very seriously. He created this planet, he created the universe and he’s watching these Luciferians destroy this planet, destroy the animal kingdom, destroy the plant kingdom, change human DNA. Why? They want to change human DNA so that you can’t be born again. That’s where they’re going with this, to change the DNA of humans so it will be impossible for a human to be born again. They want to create a race of soulless creatures on this planet.

He also believes we're about to enter an ice age rather than the warming defeating the one we're actually in.

2. A Hindu "environmentalist" Vandana Shiva who makes 40K for an appearance objects to THIS vegan food :-

An Impossible response

I'd be tempted to eat one of those if they didn't fucking well bleed [aghast/appalled emoji here]

Me too, the appearance of blood and taste like a cow no way. Too horrible for me.
I’ll stick with other plant based tofu and tempeh However, a friend back in my hometown asked to try one. When I saw him couple weeks later he told me he has been buying them on his own. He really liked them.

I was surprised, knowing him to always eat animals but now enjoying plant based. He asked why had I never offered him one, my response being I just had assumed he would refuse.

Can anyone muster any fucks?

How can you be 'opposed' to a fucking food that is infinitely better for the planet? Stupid cunt.

The bizarre attempts to make it mimic blood and meat rather then simply a really fucking nice burger/foodstuff is absolutely weird.

I don't know any meat eaters, self included, that want our food to bleed before or after cooking. But this doesn't offend me though, other than the notion of corporate control/intellectual property of food. Whether this is healthy or not is another matter.

As for the religious nutter: aren't animals soulless according to christianity?

is this what it's actually being marketed as? thats well off putting.

'bleeds just like real meat' aint appetising to the mind regardless of what diet yer on

totally disregarding the fact that steak dont 'bleed' its meat juice

vegans are fucking gross sometimes with the 'food' they invent

Nothing is as gross as the weird hormone-stuffed, freakshow meat that's churned out from cruel, despicable factory farms.

is there an issue?

you really should stop letting nobodies on the internet get to you, otherwise it'll raise cortisol levels which can cause medical issues.

I've never understood the point of creating pretend-meat foods when you don't want to eat meat. YMMV. Eat what you enjoy IMO
It was explained right here #338.

People like the look, taste and texture of burgers, sausages etc., so if they want one that doesn't involve death and cruelty and does less damage to the environment, why the fuck shouldn't they have one?

Can't say the ingredients appeal to me. Ironically it's got more sat fat, if that's your concern, than it's beefy counterpart.

Saturated fats seem to be having a bit or a revival recently. And tbf if you aren't eating them every night your diet would still have loads less then mine.

I had one of them beyond burgers at some twatty burger place in Bristol a while back, was nice. I didn't stick my hand up a jacksy to understand how it lived or anything though

Loads of this new wave vegan junk food is really high fat high salt, it's how they make it taste like nice junk food, pretty much the point of it really. Just like with meat eating diets it's fine if you're not eating it twice a day isn't it

Big diff between mcburger fast food bullshit and proper meat (duh!). If this product is trying to emulate the former it probably is preferrable, but not for the latter IMO.

Perhaps you failed to read my last post where I the preference for a burger that "doesn't involve death and cruelty and does less damage to the environment."

Oh, and not all vegan burgers have more saturated fat than the dead animals ones - most have slightly less calories - not that I've seen anyone suggesting that people should switch to a non-meat diet and eat burgers all day.
