Bjork's new album Vulnicura download

I've just had it on really loud as I had the house to myself. The production is amazing, what can at first sound sparse has got loads of subtle shifts and tricks going on.

wow, just been on skype to a pal for an hour talking about it... so much 'stuff' from this album....have listened to it three times, now is the first proper time. I can appreciate its beauty but im not keen. It reminds me of Captain Beefheart's Trout Mask Repilica - an almost unlistenable album but the die hards will like it...<sigh> im one of them. I even flew to Iceland to see Bjork perform in 2011!

I have been waiting for an upbeat Bjork album in a long, long time, and this sure aint it....but she has admitted herself, that this is a 'complete heartbreak album' Her full statement here

i would add - Bjork's lyrics are very interesting and these seem straight from the heart. I have always read her lyrics like poetry, and these are very good.

I have this book of her lyrics 'The stories behind the songs' and they all have a philosophical quality, so once some sound punter uploads the words, i will listen to the album again and read them along with it.

Bjork has always done heart and heartbreak very well...that is something that makes her special and sincere/believable lyrically. She has that experience to song gift that many don't.

Haven't read the link yet but I will say one thing she has always had going for her is 'herself'... logistically/culturally/egotistically/dramatically/originality...on top of that the production on her work has always been amazing, like it or loathe it...she is the Icelandic Kate Bush, but not at all for obvious reasons...Yet she is Bjork and for fuckz sake...who was it that said about Debut, 'thank god we have Bjorks voice'...not word for word but something like that... YES, I read that and thought..her voice is important for a lot of reasons.

I don't rate all of her work...I don't rate all of anyone's work though.

My favourite Bjork album is Medulla, which is fairly recent (around 2006). I loved one of her more sombre songs 'The Pleasure is all mine' (which is never on youtube, but its the opener on the album, totally sublime) but Triumph of a Heart, for many reasons, is my favourite, and the video kicks ass!!!! :)

I watch The Young Americans some weeks back not seen for years That Bjork I love powerfull got guts doesn't sound dated.

Above sound week & whining, bit hard maybe on only one play.
