An American's observations about his visit to England go viral

The worlds biggest forum, where anyone can start a subforum of their own. Threads (and posts) are voted up and down. The most popular threads get to the front page. The day after, they turn up on the Bandwidth Thread.
Cheers.

Much more useful than Google, which directed me to Reddit and a page of results I didn't understand.

I never visit the Bandwidth thread, as I don't want to waste bandwidth. (Much the same reason that I never saw Pointless until earlier this year. I thought the name was clue enough).

You avoided the glory that is Pointless? Oh, Danny :(

Were you the kid who actually did turn off their television set and go and do something less boring instead?

Yes. I thought the name was a comment on the content.

I also always judge a book by its cover. (What other way is there?)
Yes, I agree that judging a book by its cover is the only sensible way to gauge whether or not it is worth your time to read. It's the worst expression we have, that one.

But Pointless is pretty good.

Pointless usually conflicts with the far superior 'The Chase' with Bradley Walsh on ITV. So for that reason I'm out

The program during the week is generally on when I'm working. But the weekend one, "Pointless Celebrities", did nothing to disabuse me of my assumption.

Pointless is shit anyway as far as I can see you win by getting the least right answer. And there is bantz. Its radio 4 stuff.

Having only seen a snippet of pointless a couple of times I can confirm it is the place past-it comedians go to die!

Anything + Celebrities = Shit. You have to bear that in mind. Even Celebrity Antiques Roadtrip.
Indeed. So when I saw a programme advertised called "Pointless Celebrities" you can see why I didn't bother watching it. (Remember at this point I hadn't seen the programme and didn't know the name derived from the rules of the game).

a common observation from canadians and americans I have experienced and read them talking about is how european sense of space is a lot smaller. Stairs, the booths in a resteraunt, barstools, tiny living rooms. Cars.
That's why we kicked out the soon-to-be-americans - they were taking up too much space.

It doesn't have comedians on it unless it is the shit celebrity variety
What about this one:

Yeah, I wouldn't bother either.

And still wouldn't.

The two places in the world with the most beautiful beaches I've been to: Cornwall and the Gower.

I think we tend to underrate our own country wrt tourism and natural beauty.
I'll see your Cornwall and Gower, and raise you a Harris and Lewis

And I'm only giving you Cornwall cos of the Scilly Isles
