But they're far from daft. I blame the internet, and both the liberal and radical left's decline into the kind of identity politics they never wanted or thought they were fighting for in their activist days.

You do hear much of this stuff being justified as 'I've been doing my own research...' (ie I'm surfing the internet until I find something that justifies the stuff running through my head atm.)

Thankfully, the couple I speak of are still anti-racist, at least in personal interactions and general sentiment, although they voted Brexit largely on the basis of immigration. They also speak favourably about 'Tommy.'

Seems how people view the world isn't simple at all.
