A thread in praise of the humble jacket potato

Nah, I need the butter, I usually eat most of one half before putting the filling on - just butter and black pepper.

They've got chocolate and chili in them. Not very nice. Glad I tasted before adding to the spud. It says on the can, 'for a really authentic taste of Mexico try stirring into chili con carne

spot on :cool: miss any of these and they're just not the same. When I'm feeling really naughty I add a big dollop of butter too
 
me girlfriend is cooking tonite.....i just sent her a text asking her to make baked potatoes :D :p

i remember yrs ago the 1st time i saw a 'jacket potato' place and i thought 'what a stupid name for a baked tater' :D

now i know better.

mmm...just talked with teh lady, i'm having jacket potatoes tonite. i don't know what the rest of the meal will be but I don't give a shit :p

Not in the slightest. It's all "enriched with buttermilk" and all that shite.

Pure is probably the closest you're going to get to practical butter without molesting a cow :)
