Nearly that time of year again people.

What sandwiches have people got planned for BSW this year?

I plan to make a wide range at home but also try some sandwiches while out and about. There is an online Sarnie Finder (here) and also an Android app (here) if you are out in the week and urgently need a sandwich.

Not sure about the online sarnie finder. The results for my postcode (north reading) come up with 4 Greggs and 2 Pret a Mangers. I'd rather go to Tescos than Greggs and Pret is WAY too expensive. There are quite a few good indie cafe/sandwich shops in Reading too.

My postcode sends me to a Greggs too. The route to get there goes past one sandwich shop, one shop that sells sandwiches and a naan shop. All superior to Greggs

Me too - and yet, in addition to Tesco, the CoOp and several independant cafes, quite a lot of early 'til late shops in this area sell filled rolls or sandwiches. It didn't even mention the cafe in the park.

In the case of this area, I assumed it was because we don't have 'sarnies' round here, we have butties.

I don't mind them, it's just that to reach them from here you'd have a long walk past several other places selling sarnies and rolls.

I like to see enthusiasm but anticipating a Sandwich Week a year in advance seems a bit previous to me. As for buying ready-made sandwiches that is just second best. I make my own sandwiches. Green chillies are a regular item included, or at the very least lime pickle. The base layer might be strong cheese or roast beef or both but there will most likely be cherry tomatoes and green lettuce leaves with olive oil in the mixture.

Dammit - I feel a sandwich coming on.

Yes, check out the image in the OP. I suspect this is a campaign by a supermarket or other business though.

E2A it seems that Greggs and Sodexo are behind this campaign. I have no gripe with Greggs where I have never been, but Sodexo are infamous for the way they treat staff. i suggest you boycott this campaign. Buy a banana and an apple instead.

I didn't have a sandwich today but I did have a very nice tuna, sweetcorn and salad sandwich yesterday.

Just had pate, lettuce, tomato, black pepper and salad cream. Very nice.

Egg, tomato, mayonnaise, leerdammer for breakfast. Not very exotic but it was good.
I did think about eating a sandwich for every meal this week but I just fancied red thai chicken from Abokado for lunch today more.
