He wants that treat!

Jakey does that, he's always been very food-driven.
For quite a long time he would stand up like that on command, in expectation of a treat (which of course he got!) but he's a bit daft bless him, not the sharpest knife in the drawer, and that training fell out of his head after a while :D

Came out of the back door this morning to find Lil’ Bob stalking an exhausted Jay on the patio. Luckily (for the Jay), it wasn’t Vic or the poor soul would have been dead in a heartbeat. However, managed to pick up the poor bird and cradled it until it felt OK to fly again. Bob was a bit perplexed as he doesn’t really kill things - just pokes them to see what they do. As far as he’s concerned his food comes out of pouches but his brother disagrees and is constantly trying to teach him how to hunt.

Advice please!

Our kittens are now just over 6 months old, they've been going out for quite a few weeks now, we keep them in at night as the cat flap needs replacing so we're currently letting them in and out in the door, or the door is left open when someone's in (most of the time).

We're going on holiday for a fortnight and i'm not sure about what to do, fix the cat flap so they can come and go, but we'll (including the kids) will worry about them when we're away, or just keep them in? Someone will come and feed them. With our old cat the beloved Minou, he had freedom to do as he pleased, but he was older and had lived there longer before we went away for so long. What do people think?

Red Cat at this age/stage, I'd keep them in. They haven't been going out long enough to really miss it IMO (and are used to being in at night), and I think you will all worry about them too much otherwise. A week might be doable, but a fortnight is quite long to worry about young, unpredictable cats.

We're away for two weeks this summer, which is the first time we've left our cats this long, and I know I'll worry even though they're fairly set-in-their-ways grown ups. Can't keep them in though as they ARE used to coming and going whenever they please, and Donut goes mental and starts attacking Vivian whenever he's contained for more than a few hours

Thank you, that was my thinking. I think I'm projecting my own hatred of feeling trapped on to them! They'll be safer indoors and that's most important.
