Your daily cat and kitten news

Jocky ran away from me when I got the Felpreva out, he must remember! He's outside, bet he stays out for hours. Hopefully he'll come in for a cuddle and nap later, and I can seize my chance.

We once had a cat called Wuzzy Wuzzy as it's what our elderly neighbour called all cats so we thought just for once she'd be right.
I remember when I was growing up my grandma had a cat and also one of its kittens. The mother was called big un and its kitten was called kitten and those names stuck for over 15 years until the cats died.

My neighbour's cat when I was a kid, I think named by their children, was Blackie. Don't go for that.
That's not quite as bad as what one of my customers called her black cat. I don't even know if the word is allowed on here so let's just say it rhymed with Tambo.

In her defence, she was an old lady and probably didn't realise it could be seen as offensive by today's standards.

Another cat from me.

This time it’s the cat who roams around our workplace. Sometimes I don’t see him for weeks, but today he spent the afternoon in my office, lying on (and moulting over a chair). He didn’t seem too hungry, but he is very spoiled and gets fed by most of the teams.

He is renowned for being a bit of a grump and apparent prefers men to women (colleague who always has treats for him tells me he just about tolerates her!) but is usually happy to be stroked and tickled when he sees me. IMG_1856.jpeg

It's hammering down rain here, but Spud decided he wanted to go out anyway... about 3 hours ago. I've been stressing for the past couple of hours, as he doesn't go out much, especially in the pissing rain, but he just came back, with a present  Poor fella was drenched. He must have been stalking this mouse for ages in the rain, only to have it taken from him and released back into the garden upon his return. I had to give him some ham as a consolation prize. :D

My cat has taken to going out in the rain now - I think cos it's just fucked it down so much, he got used to it :D

After last night's catnip-fuelled battle of the cat tree, the pair of them settled down and coexisted really nicely for the rest of the evening, so I left the door open.

Kitten-2 loved it of course and despite ignoring the toys I put in her bed, she promptly claimed Kitten-1's mouse and played with it for ages - Kit-1 came-up and watched her/sniffed her and they did a bit of pouncing on each other's tails before settling down.

I woke-up to Kit-1 on the very top of the cat tree, and Kit-2 sleeping happily on the pillow beside me.

However, I've kept them apart today, mainly because Kit-1 is a week or so older, a little bit bigger and when playing, there were a couple of occasions she was a little more boisterous and pinned her down with ease, so until Kit-2 catches-up a bit I'll keep their time together to when I can keep an eye on them.

She was meowing most plaintively when I shut the door between them this morning though. :(

How about Athena and Artemis?
(Or has someone already suggested that, I've lost track a bit, there have been some great suggestions though! Naming is difficult).
