this chap came up on a re-post on blooksi

:(

he's FIV+ and in a shelter in the netherlands waiting for a new home

think the postage to here might be a bit much...
Ohhh he looks so sad! 😿

Poor bugger is just weeing in his sleep now.
I found my pack of puppy pads. Still he's waking up on a damp pad though, which is not pleasant for him.
Also did some reading and it turns out that urinary incontinence can be a side-effect of Gabapentin in humans and other animals, as it can cause relaxation of the urinary sphincter - if that's going to happen it usually starts after a few days to a week on the drug (which fits with the progression of his loss of bladder control), and usually resolves within a few days of coming off it (which I know needs to be a gradual taper) - so that gives me some hope that he might regain some bladder control once he's stopped taking it.
I'm going to speak to the vet when they are open on Tuesday to get advice about when and how to taper him off it. He still has at least a week on antibiotics to go.
I'm just ridiculously frazzled by all of this.

Poor love. How frustrating for both of you. I hope the vet can help.

My old girl Beaker was a harlequin, although of the tabby variety rather than full black. And many moons ago I had a proper b+w harlequin, Max. But I find that diagram a little unsettling as they all look like rugs :(
Yeah I know what you mean about the rugs. Or something from the Horniman museum. :(
Though I like the fact that the bicolour has another cat on it. :)

We were told Trillian’s sister would be a tuxedo but by 9 weeks she was turning out to be a tabby tuxudo. I still miss her. :(

Epona I was going to suggest puppy pads but sounds like you and Callie already thought of that. Has it helped your stress levels at least? I can’t remember how near you are to us but our washing machine has a setting that’s pretty good at getting wee smells out of things if yours starts struggling.

Our boy has hurt his tail. Its a bit swollen and he's not wagging it like a dog as he usually does. He's outside in next doors garden and walking ok, and he seems a bit more himself, but usually he's so fast that when he runs down the stairs for breakfast he skids on the tiles in the hallway. His tail is not totally droopy, but not as usual.

Going to have to wait for him to come in but looks like we'll have to take him to the emergency vets. Why do these things always happen on a BH weekend?

He's still out going between gardens.

He came over when I went out but hesitant about coming nearer and just ran off.

Maybe he knows he might be going to the V.E.T.

These cats are such a worry!

A bit later than expected but they are being born right now.

Three so far, probably more by morning.

The Ginger is almost certainly spoken for as Mrs Fish's pal was really hoping for a ginger in her last litter.

:)

just been out for something.

downstairs kitteh did not want petting - she was eating grass in neighbour's garden. she's either decided she's a sheep today, or isn't well.

i hope she feels better soon, and i will be careful next time i step outside...
