Your daily cat and kitten news

Poor baby. And I hope you get your clothes cleaned soon.
Thank you!
Doing laundry here isn't as simple as just putting a load in the washing machine and leaving it - the outflow pipe gets blocked frequently, so doing laundry involves standing by the sink and bailing out into a bucket the water that flows up backwards from the washing machine into the kitchen sink and then pouring it down the loo, or it will just flow back into the washing machine and then the door won't unlock at the end of the cycle - or it might overflow out of the sink onto the kitchen floor - so it's a complete faff and can't be left unattended

I need to stop worrying about permanent damage, he's been on gabapentin for 2 weeks and had diagnosis and antibiotics for 4 days, he can barely walk on the gabapentin. It stands to reason (or falls over to reason) that if he can't stand up and walk he's going to piss wherever he happens to be at the time.

If anyone has a 3m roll of leftover vinyl flooring let me know, I could really do with a fairly big piece to replace the carpet at the litter tray end of the room  :(

Yes, that makes complete sense. We were lucky with Paddy - he had about a week on gabapentin and was just very sleepy (even more than usual!). The vet did ask at his check up if he'd been wobbly.

I hope Jakey is back to normal soon.

Epona I don't know if it would be of use but I have some puppy pads that we no longer need that I could deliver to you? Might be a useful as a temp solution to capture at least some of the wees?

Oh that reminds me I do actually have some puppy pads in the spare room (aka the black hole of hoarding) that I bought ages ago when he was going through a phase of weeing on our bed at night.
If I can't find them or need more, I'll PM you, you don't need to come to me, I can meet you somewhere and buy you a pint or summat :)

I woke up this morning with my tshirt soaked and him having a whizz on the pillow next to my face 😭

Oh Epona being regularly doused in the body fluid of another being, even one you love very much, is so, so wearing and depressing - I'm so sorry. And for the worry too of course. I catastrophise too but it's good that you can talk yourself down from it. Really hope he turns a corner soon x

:D I definitely wouldn't be spilling Ginger's pint, were I a cat...
I dunno, I think it's the black and white one on the right that you'd want to watch out for - ginger probably a big old softy who would buy you a pint if you knocked his over - but I reckon the one on the right is the shifty one who'd offer you out to the car park...

A special thank you to Vic who brought in a frog at 2am and dropped it next to my pillow. It hopped all over the bed, Mrs SFM woke with a start and the two of us scrambled to get hold of it. Vic thought this was a wonderful game and joined in. Anyway, frog caught unharmed and placed in flowerpot outside by Yrs truly wearing nothing but a pair of pants. Vic currently in disgrace.

A beautiful cat in Tottenham. Epona is he a OSH? He reminds me of your lads!

It's a little hard to tell from that photo, but from the colouring, I'd guess it's a Tonkinese - a breed originally created by cross-breeding Siamese and Burmese.
It results in a different range of coat colours but with Siamese style colourpoint markings (temperature-labile albinism - where melanin is only stable at lower than body temperature resulting in dark extremities and pale body) and a slightly more moderate facial/ear appearance than the modern Siamese/OSH.
It could equally be a traditional style rather than modern/extreme style Siamese - that would be a Lynx point as you can see its tabby markings on its legs - possibly chocolate?

One way to tell for sure between the two would be up close look at its eyes - Siamese eye colour ranges from pale blue through to a mid blue, whereas Tonkinese tend to have either yellow/green, aqua, or dark blue eyes.

It's a beautiful cat either way!
