Your daily cat and kitten news

It seems to be his signature sitting upright pose :D
Sonic had an odd but quite distinctive pose too, he'd sit wonky so he'd have one back knee and foot under his chest between his front legs, and the other back leg to the other side of his front legs - whereas most cats sit upright with both their front legs between their back paws and haunches. I'll have to see if I've got a photo of that, it was one of his little peculiarities.

Cat sits like a Anubis. At my feet, on the hard floor. All alert and on duty. It’s quite peculiar. Then after a bit he goes off and sleeps on something soft like a normal cat.

He comes in from the garden and wherever he goes (I really don’t want to know - I think I’d have a heart attack 😫) so he stands on the coffee table and petitions for attention and food, the urgency of the same determined by the aperture between his front paws 😼🙄

I can't find a single photo of Sonic sitting wonky and it's upset me a bit
He used to do it all the time but you're all just going to have to take my word for it.
He would have been staring at me intently the whole time too, because he used to do that - to add to any mental image of this skinny little blue OSH cat with big ears staring intently at me and sitting all wonky. :D
Miss my Sonic ❤️

Is it time for Modulus Flea Bass and The Piano Cat again?

Yes, yes it is.

This is pretty high on the “things I never get tired of” list

When recovering from my first bout of COVID, I got myself a cheap second hand set of Scottish Smallpipes to try and help my battered lungs recover. There was no way I could blow the real thing without coming very close to passing-out.

When I played them, the old lady went absolutely daft and was always determined to get right-on my lap and snuggle-up beside/make friends with this small cat-sized resonating/vibrating object under my arm!

I wish I'd got some video of that. Normally she got right out of the room when the full set got played! :D

Vastra seems to have lost quite a lot of weight lately, and is frankly looking more of a healthy cat shape - I would be concerned but we have started offering her more soft food from the foil-lidded packs that she really likes and she seems to be going more for eating that in small servings than larger servings of dry food; she won't eat a whole pack at a time, but likes to eat half to 3rd of one at one sitting.

She seems generally in fine fettle and is puking less than she did on more dry food so I'm hoping this weight loss is a positive thing, but if it continues we should probably get to the vet.
