Your daily cat and kitten news

too dark for photographs, but downstairs kitteh was out on the porch when i went to put bins out, and wished it to be known she was not happy about it raining, and would i do something about it.

I’ve had this all day from Cat. He goes out long enough to get wet, comes in to clean off the wet, insists that I make it stop raining, sits in the doorway staring at the rain and then over his shoulder at me, does the “Maybe it isn’t raining at the other door, can you check for me, yes now, right now please” manoeuvre, reluctantly goes out long enough to get wet...

I too am impressed that they consider us powerful enough to control the weather 😀

Some of you have seen me write about Sadie, the Manor House Garden cat who is a total character and undoubtedly the Queen of Lee.
In the park when Sadie feels like some peace she goes into the ‘no dog’ area.
Last Saturday when walking through there was a couple in their early thirties sitting on the metal bench and lo and behold Sadie was curled up on the lap of the lady fast asleep.
I asked them if they knew Sadie, but they said no, and had only moved to the area a couple of months before. I asked the lady what she will do when she needs to move on, and with a smile and a look she said she didn’t know. I told her she was honoured, but didn’t admit my feelings of jealousy.
Anyway two days later (Monday) same bench but a completely different couple, early thirties. Sadie curled up on the lap of the lady dozing and doing a little bit of grooming. We had the same conversation, didn’t know her, new to the area, the lot, including my feeling of envy.
Yesterday, after encountering Napoleon on my way out I met Sadie in the park in what appears to be a regular spot for her these days. For no logical reason I am always thrilled to see her. Here are the pictures from yesterday.

How is Beauty doing now, StoneRoad?
Vey well indeed, thanks for asking !

She still has a few problems, but very minor ones, tbh. Sometimes forgets she's missing a leg when belting about the place.
Had her to the vets again - she groomed a deep scab off one of the places where she was mauled a while back, and then licked off a large hair patch, I think [mainly] that the area was itching. Couple of jabs and ££ later, she's fine and I suspect her fur will grow back very quickly.
Currently "customising" her cardboard box after a long play session with her minions operating teaser poles / flashy[or bell] balls.
And she is great friends with Ben de-Dog, both enjoy lying in the sun.

Took some pics of the pair interacting ... they'll turn up here soon [ie posted on Ipernity - e2a - already uploaded, just need to sort out titles etc]

Fantastic! Sorry to hear about the issues she's been having. But it's great to hear she's doing well on the whole and getting on with her new canine friend. I see what you mean by "customising" - that looks familiar! You've done a good job of nursing her back to health.

She's adapted wonderfully well to being an "indoor" cat - I think the almost endless supply of food helped with healing ... need to make sure that we keep her weight under control.
Not to forget that she likes her head "scritched" and now we can all give her stokes and get a purr in retuen - she also tolerates us playing with her tail !

Had to remind her to keep her claws in today, for the first time. Yesterday, she jumped up for food and treats on the sofa whilst someone was sat by her food. And if her dish is empty at official feeding time, she will tell us - a distinct meow for that.
Basically, almost every day sees something improving.

Just got the girls an Ottoman style bed. It is getting good use by Rogue and Bella. The inside mat is not thick enough so have ordered a small blanket. Might order a second one next month so they both can have one each

got one of these and they never used it apart from having a look, Kizzy just sits on top of it

I’m missing Cat.
Away for the weekend, drove down late last night after sorting out the house for the house sitter and switching on a section of the electric blanket so Cat wasn’t cold overnight. Sitter is going in today so he’s solo til then. I’m sure he’s fine, of course he is.

He’s only three years old and he’s now made the connection between me packing, and going away, so he did the interference thing of sitting on my packing, in the case, weaving between my ankles as I went to and fro. He even jumped into the car when I was packing it up.

And then fucked off into the night when it came time to say goodbye and leave.

You'll be back together in no time. He'll be fine with the cat sitter until you get back!

girasol Sorry, can't find this in the manual, but when I did a 'feed now' test earlier, it wouldn't work until I manually pressed the Unlock button. Surely it won't require that for a scheduled feed, or it would be pointless?

How far apart were his legs? (Again 😀)

It seems to be his signature sitting upright pose :D
Sonic had an odd but quite distinctive pose too, he'd sit wonky so he'd have one back knee and foot under his chest between his front legs, and the other back leg to the other side of his front legs - whereas most cats sit upright with both their front legs between their back paws and haunches. I'll have to see if I've got a photo of that, it was one of his little peculiarities.
