Your daily cat and kitten news

Hey all, sorry to not update about Neela. Sadly her condition worsened and we lost her this evening. She was my beautiful bootsy baby and I'm going to miss her so much.

Please give all your pets some extra love tonight x
So sorry Callie :(

So sorry to hear this, always so hard to say goodbye :(
Nate sends his condolences also.

Ash, the feral who lives in the front garden came into the flat for over fifteen minutes yesterday. The longest since I kept her in for a week after she was neutered. She has finally understood that if she goes to the door and makes a noise I will open it for her. This morning she also came in to supervise the shopping delivery. She would still rather be outside but she seems over the last few days to have decided indoors is at least safe. Angus isn't particularly bothered. They are a long way from being besties, but they aren't fighting.

I feel very strange. Grief is so weird. I'm ok, I am making a specific push to remember all the lovely things that made her Neela and trying to not think about the last bits and the ifs and the buts.

I'm so glad I have lots of pictures of her, what's app messages to my OH about what she's doing with pictures. Little videos of her rolling around on fresh bedding 😻 I wrote a big list of all her nicknames and I keep remembering more. I also wrote down all of her little mannerisms.

She was a very wary cat and took a while to come around after I got her. Eventually I think she tolerated me!

Triped Update ...

Beauty hasn't used the safe space - the crate / igloo - for three days, actually that is since her new bed appeared.
She seems quite happy with the new bed. [photo to take tonight !]
At the moment she's a bit put out as we've re-arranged / tidied up and will be packing the crate away tonight.
I don't think she's ever really played with toys, neither does she respond strongly to catnip.
But she still enjoys the catcrack !

The Boss always gets fed with my breakfast and my dinner, so morning and evening. I seriously fucked with his furry body clock today by cooking at lunchtime, a very rare thing for me. I tried, successfully, to calm him with a few Dreamies.

Lilith annoyed with me because she got caught in the rain and she thinks I'm responsible for the weather.

Our late girl Buttons used to be like this. As she didn’t have a cat flap, she relied on us to let her out and in. As a result she also thought we controlled the weather and so, when she came in out of the rain, and we closed the back door after her, it followed that if we opened the door again that the weather would have changed! Flawed feline logic 😾

ETA Buttons would ask to go out 2 mins after coming in with the expectation of a change in the weather 🙂

Ken is also hating the rain. I was just about to start an online class this evening and he came and scratched at the door. I let him in and he shouted at me for a good long while, obviously trying to tell me something. I opened the back door but he just stood and shouted. So I changed the litter and he went for a massive piss  Now asleep next to me. He's a great cat, so clever and communicative.
