It was the first one. Saw it the other night for the first time in decades at an outdoor cinema night, and was surprised to see "Introducing Johnny Depp" in the opening credits. And then still managed to get through the whole film without realizing which character was him - obviously this was filmed before his growth spurt/plastic surgery/usurpation by evil twin.

I occasionally view, on YouTube, this 70s sit-com series "Doctor in the. . . " based on the same book that inspired the Dirk Bogarde flick of the 1950s. These were updated for the 1970s, which means (obviously) some very dodgy sexual politics.
