Sounds fair enough to me. Fourth in anything wouldn't justify an open top bus parade.

Not that I don't think the team did brilliantly and should be celebrated. They did and should. No one outside the US has the resources and depth in women's football to match them, and it showed. An England/France semi with the winners playing USA would have been a better reflection of the hierarchy of the women's game for me. Thought the France/USA game was more worthy of the final than the game we saw, without dissing the Dutch.

First positive , if at the moment a one off, attempt to build on the success of women's football is that both Man City and Chelsea's teams will play at the Ettihad and Stamford Bridge in September when the PL breaks for the men's internationals .
